I highly disagree with this win as No.8 I know it’s very brave to say as No.1, but easily fit into the top 3. It was due to this tournament win that BCCI sit as the most powerful cricket board across the globe. I know the idea of ipl was already in progress, but it couldn’t have become a success had India not lifted the trophy. I clearly remember, at that time for India to do well in a tournament was the only expectation, to win it was something else for all cricket fans, and I believe that this win was bigger than 2011 wc win in some terms and was the main reason why Indian Cricket has become such a dominant force! Also, we didn’t have a great start to this tournament, but that partnership between Viru and Gauti against NZ and Eng, and Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes, fiery trio of RP, Irfan and Sreesanth, shrewd captaincy of Dhoni not only changed the course of the tournament, but also for Indian Cricket. To add any context to the T20 Wc 2007, seems overwhelming coz they are too many

Wholeheartedly agree with this point. 2007 T20 WC win is THE most significant moment in the history of Indian cricket at least in the last 50 years. Simply because no other event made Indian cricket as powerful as this win. Because India won, IPL could become what it is today. And the success of IPL is one big reason for India's power in world cricket today. Before this WC, India didn't even want to play T20, and without that win, it would have probably continued for a bit more.

Well the answer to this question is Yusuf Pathan, the man who could do special things on the field with ease. An all-rounder who was a part of both the 2007 and 2011 squads. Although, my favourite Memory of him is the century he hit in the series decider against South Africa just before the 2011 World Cup. What an innings it was! Even though we couldn't manage to win, such an innings defines a special player.

I am surprised this is at number 8. I thought this would in top 3. 1983 WC win has to be number 1, but this one was incredibly significant in the history of Indian cricket as well. Yuvraj Singh was just a monster in this WC. Its just so strange that he never lit up the IPL given how perfect he was for T20I cricket, especially in those early years before cancer.

Yuvraj Singh, the match winner was the difference. His innings of 30 ball 70 against champion Australian side in semi-finals proved that he was number 1 batsmen in shorter format in world cricket at that time. Uthappa also played crucial innings in that semifinals.

It just baffles my mind that how with just 2.5 years in international cricket, MS Dhoni became a world cup winning captain. And there are now Indian wicket keepers Batsman like KL Rahul (10 yrs) and Ishan Kishan (5 yrs) who are not even sure in the Indian squads. Also, there is Rishab Pant (8 yrs) has just 1 Gabba win to show to his name and is being considered the next big thing after MSD. Its been a long time since Rishab has made his debut.
