My Top 5 Performances: 1: Harsha Bhogle's apparent reluctance to hold senior players accountable, especially after the MS incident, choosing to avoid tough questions. 2:Our "super coach" Gautam Gambhir, whose press conference demeanor made it seem as if India won 3-1 against Australia, despite the reality. 3:Commentators like Jatin Sapru and Aakash Jhopda, who either lack the courage or refuse to question senior players on their poor form. 4:The PR teams of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, shamelessly managing fan army accounts to push narratives. 5:Virat Kohli's questionable behavior of mimicking the sandpaper incident-focus on scoring runs instead of indulging in such antics.

Agreed. Indian cricket players consider themselves to be greater than the team and the fans are partly to blame for this since we revere them and create a god like aura around them. I have long been a fan of Rohit Sharma and his graceful shots but his comments after the last match clearly shows his arrogance. After that interview alone he doesn't deserve to captain the team. Kohli has long been underperforming but has managed to retain his place. The fact remains that these players consider the Indian cricket team as their throne. Also no human being wud willingly want to give up on the fame and money that comes with playing/captaining the side. So tough decisions need to be taken by the coach and selectors. Also unbiased commentary needs to be done by commentators like Harsha bhogle. Sadly all these things are lacking. Sorry state for indian cricket.

Nearly 10 years ago Sydney marked the beginning of something special under Virat Kohli’s leadership. His 692 runs in that series weren’t just numbers; they were a statement earning him the title of "King" & ushering in a golden era for Indian Test cricket. Fast forward to the present day in Sydney & though Kohli is no longer the captain fate had its own plans. For one final time he found himself leading the side. But this time the script didn’t go his way. India not only lost the series but Kohli also ended what might be his final Test series against Australia on a disappointing note. India lost & Kohli once revered as the *King* left Sydney with the sting of being labeled a *Clown* by the Australian media. The Australian media taunts calling him a *Clown"* might sting but they also highlight how far things have fallen since that glorious beginning. Between 2016-2018, Kohli was unstoppable, averaging over 75 in consecutive years & converting 50s into 100s with ease. But his career now seems like one of a brilliant peak, much like Mohammad Yousuf of Pak but Miandad & Younis Khan are considered better there..in a similar way Tendulkar, Dravid & Gavaskar remain far ahead in Tests from India. Kohli's decline began post-2019, especially during the WTC cycle (2019-2021), where his average dropped alarmingly..19.33 in 2020, 28.21 in 2021, & 26.50 in 2022. Burnout from playing all formats & skipping domestic cricket may have stopped him from fixing old flaws, like chasing wide deliveries & struggling against spin. Against left-arm spinners, his avg collapsed from 106 (2015-2019) to 31 (2020-2023). Before 2023 his last test century was in 2019, & recent centuries often came in easy situations, not when the team was under pressure. His ability against the new ball has also declined. While Kohli has played a few standout innings, like in the T20 WC, his form overall has dipped. From being the team’s backbone, he’s now part of the problems. Question is has he worked to improve? Unlike Rahane or Pujara, who played domestic matches & sought expert help like Pravin Amre, there’s little evidence of Kohli making efforts to address his weaknesses. Legends like Sachin & Dravid constantly evolved their games for Warne & Sri Lanka..what has Kohli done to adapt?

Not at all 😅, starc, head was the of defeat in Adelaide,in melbourne Cummins was mainly reason with Smith,in last match it was Boland 😅, but in case of bumrah he outperformed Cummins in every match even in melbourne (if siraj had supported him in 91/6). Stop watching scorecard, watch live cricket, those who seen luve cricket knows how dangerous was bumrah, most of Cummins wicket was gifted and some were controversary, like Sundar one.

Indians think it's a good thing that Jasprit Bumrah was by far the best player in the series, but India might've lost 4-1 if not for the rain in Brisbane and for them to be so reliant on a 31 year old with a history of back injury, is that a good thing? The less is to have a balanced team, like the Aussies. A population of only 25 million but still have 4 top class seamers.

McSweeney and Labuschagne surviving the third session of Day 1 Adelaide Test under the lights literally defined the series for me. Had Bumrah and Co replicated Perth Day 1 heroics, things could’ve been different and Head would’ve come to bat within the first 15 overs. It was all set up for a repeat but the Indian pacers surprisingly missed their lengths.

My top 5 seemingly small moments, in no particular order, that had a big impact on Australia winning the series- 1. Marnus and McSweeney surviving the night session at Adelaide. 2. Sam Konstas' debut innings leading to stage being set for Marnus and Khawaja to breathe easy. 3. Boland Lyon partnership. Arguably, that partnership resulted in Bumrah overbowling and getting unfit for the deciding day. 4. Jaiswal's run out at Melbourne. 5. Jadeja-Pant's over cautious batting at Sydney in the first innings.

Risabh Pant's innings at the SCG. Both of them. To watch both sides of him, that was number 1. He made it look like India had hope as long as he was at the crease. This is in a team with King Kohli, KL Rahul and YB Jaiswal. Sure, Beau Webster also got a 50 in that match, but he had the mighty Australian team behind him which cannot be understated. As mighty as Bumrah had been throughout the series, to watch an Indian batsman come out and hit a six off the first ball of Scott Boland after he tortured everyone the entire innings. He even made him duck when he hit him over his head. That fighting spirit, if the entire team had that spirit in that Test match, we would have won that game. All of the criticism levelled at Pant at the MCG, he came out and showed everyone that he will be one of the greatest players ever.

@karthikrajah8680 After Kohli and Rohit , Risabh Pant should be the first one to be excluded. In the garb of attacking Cricket he throws his wicket every time .This series ,he has wasted at least 5-6 innings.Harry Brook,Tristan Stubbs,Travis Head they all back their natural instincts, but look at them:Harry Brook scored an almost run -a -ball triple test century in pak against pak; two back to back tons(match winning) against nz in nz.Tristan stubbs scored a double century against ban in ban and Travis Head,India's nemesis, had two match winning scintillating tons against India in BGT. How many matches did Risabh Pant win out of 8 (against nz and Aus combined)???.Now some will say he got runs against Nz.yss ,he was in form and got runs but couldn't win us a single game. Honestly speaking he isn't a batter gifted with test match technique as Gavaskar sir Pointed and that is why he tries to slog his way out.Has he the ability to bat 2 sessions patiently?? If not, these players are done away with. Out of 5-6 overseas hundreds that he normally brags 5 were in losing cause.

If Virat wants to play England test series and selectors agree too then he needs to do these 3 things: 1. Play at least 2 county matches before that test series. 2. Leave every single ball outside off stump(only play really overpitch ball outside off stump which is very close to his body). 3. Play pull shots a lot because he is a great pull shot player and don't play cover drives at all in his first 40 balls.

NKR has been one of the best performers of the series, no doubt... not just his century moment. When all others were failing, coming at 7/8, he was the most consistent Indian batsman until the 2nd innings of the 3rd test. Just goes to show how fickle our memories are! Still believe we lost that 3rd test because of the dropped catches rather than any batting or bowling performances, Jaiswal being the main culprit.. 😞

Disagree with the Konstance point. I don't think that's the turning point for the series because in the very next inning we have Nitish Reddy's ton which could be a turning point of we have all-out Australia cheaply in the second innings which we were about to esp after 91/6 and went on to win that match. So for me partnership between labuschagne and Cummins and then Boland Lyon would be the turning point for the series with pant's dismissal in the second innings just after tea break. I know you'd be doing lip service for 19yr old like everyone else at Fox but I didn't find anything remarkable yet in Sam konstance. I can go beyond this look at playing 11 in Melbourne after Rohit came into the side, in the first test it was clear we are going with one extra batter in jurel what Rohit did bring two spinning all-rounder defensive attitude after winning first test that's the turning point for the series. Rohit's insecurity as a batter trickles down and infected whole dressing room.

Huge mistake. May be politics. e) Batsmen always looked in hurry, often lacked concentration. Seems T20 playing on mind. They never came up with attitude that we have to bat x sessions or with a goal to score 275-300 runs in an innings. f) Smart Bowling changes

Gill's & Pant's needless aggression & failure to play. Not giving more chances to Dhruv Jurel. 3. Non-selection of Pujara at least as a backup option (He's in fine nick playing domestic) 4. Conservative defensive selections of Harshit Rana (Over Prasidh and Akash) & Washington over Ashwin 5. Rohit's woeful form. An ideal test XI - A batting line-up rooted in solid defensive batting except for 2 stroke makers and a bowling line-up always looking for wickets. 1. Jaiswal 2. Rahul 3. Pujara 4. Pant 5. Jurel 6. Few things i would like to say - Sundar cannot be replacement of ashwin instead he can be replacement of jadeja (yeah not like to like) . For ashwin place we should try kuldeep he has been superb . We can try sundar at 3 or 4 he is very technically sound batsman. Sai sudarshan could be the perfect replacement of pujara . We need atleast one left hand fast bowler . Maybe Mohsin khan could be perfect option. Yashasvi Rahul Sai sudarshan Number 4 Nitish Kumar Pant Jadeja/Sundar Kuldeep Shami Bumrah Siraj/ mohsin/

Harsha sir, why ignore Pant? You didn’t even mention his fastest half century and 101 on a tough pitch where no one else could score. Why such bias?

Easiest choice. Ha Cummings scored runs. Took vital wickets. Captained brilliantly. India have big issues. England will hammer rhem. But they dont really care.

What about the 2 drops from Jaiswal and Siraj in the second innings of Melbourne? Had Jaiswal caught Labuschagne, Australia would have been 91/8, India would have has at best 215 to chase in final innings with 130 overs to spare and Bumrah would have been spared some overload of bowling another 10 overs that day. India could have won that game and Bumrah would have been fresher to bowl at SCG. Further later when Siraj dropped Lyon, Aus would have been 170 allout leaving India 275 to chase in 110 overs, and again spared Bumrah 5 overs.

Dear Harsha - you have been boiling the ocean in singing praises of many of the senior players to a point where it’s starting to sound disingenuous. Australia played like a professional site and India celebrated the breadcrumb moments.. There were a number of youngsters who were not given an opportunity and should’ve been given an opportunity. It’s a real wake up call for the administrators as India but not only outfoxed on the field but also strategically out manoeuvered.. requesting you to be a bit more critical factual and stop the star worship.

I dont think without Boland, Aussies would have won BGT. Starc and Hazlewood are so freaking over rated. What has Starc done apart from Pink Ball Test where conditions are heavily skewed towards fast bowlers ? India would have hammered Hazlewood too just like they have for last 10 years.

Batting needs a serious overhaul apart from Jaiswal none of the batters deserve a spot in the national teams,in the last 2 series batters have let us down in almost all the matches. Reddy had a promising start but in last 3 innings he failed, needs to be developed for the future. Bumrah is being overbowled in almost all the matches, lacking support from others,Siraj and Akashdeep have been really disappointing in Australia,we need to look for other fast bowlers. Ashwin had to retire because he had a bad home series, why have Rohit and Kohli not retired yet? Siraj, Gill and Pant deserve to be dropped, just because he had one good inning doesn't mean he is deserving to be in the team. Rahul needs to be given a fixed spot and chances to see if he should be in team or not. Rohit,Kohli and Jadeja really need to retire as soon as possible. Pant is below average in white ball formats the format which suits his playstyle the most, the reason being mostly everyone plays like that in those formats and is expected as well from others.
