15:40 and could have had 1 more pplanetary. seriously its baffling how many marines and hellions is just thrown away on small things, instead of setting up a frontpost of like 3 planetary 8 turrest and 3 tanks. having that to continually fall back to would be absurdly strong, its not that expensive at mid+ game and at mid game its literally suicide to sacrifice enough resources to kill the position; if supported at all at any point. same with zerg, why isnt a nydus always ready with queen heals, spore and spines and easy get away. so often we see like 30+ supply die by having to run half a map with enemies chasing and killing. if they only had to run a third of that and they got a defense position of 2 spines 1 spoore, it would at least garantee more resources of units escaped than it would cost for the buildings buying time, or give a holding position by flodding it becuase they took the bait. p players are the biggest offenders with absolutely amazing static defenses and you never see a p place just 2-3 offensive shield bat to heal those 17 !! archons etc -.- its such a huge wasted

Isn't there a rock-paper-scissors relationship between "aggressive", "greedy", and "safe" builds, while any "cheese" is just an "aggressive build" subtype?
@GamerGirllllll Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily true, double hatch before pool would be a greedy type of cheese. And something like a pylon or ebay block on the natural isn’t really aggressive.
@user-tb7ml8kz7h Жыл бұрын
@@GamerGirllllll I speak of tradeoffs: Is double hatch more greedy than the aggressive 14 pool? Is pylon/E-bay block are just forms of aggression, or "spending resources to make your opponent deviate from the greediest-build-possible"? The same goes for worker scouting - the scouting worker isn't mining, but instead allows you to counter whatever your opponent is doing, thus it is a "safe" play. I dislike the standard-cheese dichotomy, and prefer the aggressive-greedy-safe trichotomy instead, since then every single action can neatly fall into one of those 3 categories, as opposed to the "current meta" that changes over time, and the various deviations from it, a.k.a. "types of cheese"... So in every game, there are actions the players do to deviate from "the greediest build possible", so the game often boils down to either outgreeding your opponent, a.k.a. "macro", or "catching the aggressive/greedy player with their pants down (not playing safe enough)" a.k.a. "cheese", right? And yes, different players have different micro skills, and unit counters are a thing too, so both translate to a variable "resources lost" after an engagement, but often GG is called way before one player is wins, since "more stuff beats less stuff", and even perfect unit composition and micro can counter only so much supply difference...
@cosmostumpf4135 Жыл бұрын
It’s not as simple as that. A greedy build that JUST defends an attack is gonna be ahead whereas an overly greedy build dies to an attack.
@user-tb7ml8kz7h Жыл бұрын
@@cosmostumpf4135 And this is why I prefer splitting all actions into the greedy-safe-aggressive trichotomy: In the case you described, yes, accounting for the opponents' aggression, by taking some safe actions (like scouting, building static defense, or making a couple of units) is indeed better than going 100% greedy, if the opponent actually attacks.
@Erebus2075 Жыл бұрын
15:29 'Z need to learn to use nydus and stop brute forcing. imagine here if Z sees that this is not attackable, which is easy to see, and instead of just seeing how much dmg he can do the units pull back same way they came, into nydus worms only a few screens distance away, and a nydus goes up in the very top, backside of base, and in natural (you can go around with a speedlord from the stop; then your units are sprung up where ever they are not, ALL of them, if he comes in force, you escaped again and hit another place, if he splits, you overwhelp the area eating everything and then escaped before you lose much. rinse and repeat and keep building static defenses at home with the extra minerals, queens for healing, even some forward hatcheries for tanking and larvae purposes (because a lot of buildings can be killed before healing from queens can be effective, hatches are some of the safest ones to EHP with queen heals from safe distance behind them, with lots of static defenses, etc. with nydus setting up and moving around the enemies heavy hitters are quite simple, and its NEVER USED, like NO ZERG EVER have used the nydus as a transportation network. its always used as an offensive attack dropship that is supposed to die; and that's not it's purpose, i mean you don't throw your dropship into death with every drop right?, so why do it with nydus? they are there to set up networks between bases that in lategame would result in major networks with 4+ worms at each key position and base, making it ridiculessly fast to move your entire army from one side of the map to the other, and tons of statics everywhere; because what else are you doing with all that drone overflow from failed harass? bc your army is always where he is vulnerable ^^
@Erebus2075 Жыл бұрын
also late game if you got 5 nydus networks, you can drop nydus right on top of 5 different tanks then attack move into them. this utterly screws up the auto attack and at minimum you get a full tank salvo for free; if you can time it with the attack so the attack takes the first salvo the worms will take at least 2-3 shots to down and if they are allowed to go up its instant reinforcement or retreat path. and honestly the resources in late endgame this is nothing. dont be lazy,
@Erebus2075 Жыл бұрын
it's also an easy way to add more EHP, apm stress, and potential play, and late game the price for at least 3 nydus network should not be noticible for most. and they will 100% make their worth if you actually use them for anything smarter than "let me nydus their main and a move to win, TOTALLY didnt see that not working" -.-
@Erebus2075 Жыл бұрын
see it as a mapwide blocking block creator with some EHP, like mini rocks you can created anywhere which also can not only block, slow, rerouted pathing etc. but also soak up dmg in a fight or screw with studder step micro, every worm you time right will take a FULL salvo from all the studdering stepping marines. assuming your really good at abusing this you could keep something from being hit by studder for several seconds. flyers fighting marines that run in under them with a move studder? pff, make 5 worms conveniently screwing with their pathing (but then they die, yer thats like 100m,50g, for disabling a full salvo which would be what? 1 dead brood, muta etc. few things are worth less to safe; overkill dmg is still tanked dmg so that 5hp when it spawns is tanking 10 marines 2 marauders hits off dmg, which is a LOT^^ --- and lets be frank if they ignore the worms they either already won or those units are soon to die and again how many resources did you safe on it or cost of slowing or hurting the army etc. see static fields from protoss does amazingly; so nydus used correctly i am sure this can be used well. like marines trying to studder from your banes? 4 worms come up surrounding them, pathing them into the banes not away. also the opponent got like 2 seconds to react to this and pickup, at most, or that entire marine clumb is dead. how many banelings do you lose again a move hunting marines? i mean if its more than 4 THIS would be a more optimal solution. and even if they leave eventually you are going to have such worms everywhere. working as scouts, passages, escapeds, slowdowns (ore hp then creeptumors at least hehe), and the important places can reinforce with queen and static buildings.

whenever a hatch is in danger all drones just evac directly though nydus and exit at backup base continuing as if no harassment was happening, and T is now investing into hurting and empty base, and you can use it to reinforce as well... ... seriously besides apm micro issues with using them, bc terrible coding choice on them, every Z built should involve nydus connections between friendly bases, just the drone safe with one drag click and forget is worth it. if you are harassed on all mining bases; you can extremely quickly get all workers in safety and lose minimum in cases where you would always lose a lot without. and they are SOO cheap, seriously SOO cheap to do nydus tunnels, like 100m 50g, that's basically 1-2 banelings to get all these amazing things, are your 2banelings or 6 for 3 bases really going to do more than the ability to quickly transport from to basess and easy mode safe workers from harass (but it takes time to get into the worm, then built 3 in late game; untill then, nothing should be able to reach and hurt them which wouldnt have wiped them without hte worm, and you will safe at least 70%+ compared to like 30% or 0% on attempting to drone drigg through the enemy force

A fun Terran tactic that works is called end game prep. When resources get low... you do what gumiho is doing take out periphery and withnjnfjjite scans you can easily zone out your opponent. All your extra barracks and factories you send them to corners and Grey zones, ready to land where uou might need production once they isolate... set up a small scanning force but your Terran you spread out your ccs... and your goal is count the amount of buildings left... and attempt to take them out. Scan Yamato to use your 9 range plus infinite... eventually their will be a small amount of buildings left... and drones hopefully... then bam... you do a final stroke for the building.. investors.. though problematic.. tanks would be nice to protect those. Ie 7 plus 6 range.. so you gives thors 6 range to safely attack I and investors get nuked from the siege back line... 10 thors... 10 tanks instead of 14 thors probably better... but yeah.. Terran has a draw and final push end game.mechanic... if you eliminate all the creep, only a hatchery can be built, so cleaning up the map with vikings late game is easy, with a 3 patrol loop that zones out the danger zones... tiny squad of banshes 2 or none lol, great for clean of buildings... just supply wise you got to be careful... dark was gambling... and gumjho probably kicked himself in the foot when he realized how much dark had in the bank... back line with thors late game is essential for investor kill box... investor neuro is 7 range.. which gives thors.. 5 to 6 range from the tanks... couple he'll bat's mixed j the back line for brood protection... but yeah... Yamato can work also... vipers are a sig ificant threat.... investors supply cost is so low its a spammy hit, lol

9:13 id agree except you dont need plating before ultras are useful... you need mf fungal growth... plating can come afterward to be honest. If the ultras connect even a little bit......... they win..... if ultras die before they hit..... they autolose. Which shoooooooows the imbalance of this game. No zerg shoulf be able to grt ultras without losing everything unless they are alrrady wijnning. And forgetting plating and losing for that reason alonr. Shows imbalance. Also shows that naturally, zergs are smarter and faster players. When will this issue of what race we choose effecting our skill level be addressed. Fuckin racists... ..
