A diamond in the rough then. Now finely polished and brilliant 😊

This was the Bonamassa we all loved and paid money to watch and listen too, before he became 'commercialised'!. I saw him in a quite a small venue in Cardiff many years ago, and he blew everybody away with a performance like this and i was told by someone who spoke to him after the concert, apparently he had flu! Would i pay to watch the new 'polished' Bonamassa? probably not.

I remember being at this concert. I love how he shouted out Fort Wayne in If Heartaches Were Nickels. One of the best concerts ever at Pierre's.

I bought the So it's like That special edition cd that came with a dvd of this show. I’ve been following Joe since Bloodline. Was very excited when he started a solo career. Personally, I prefer the young, raw and hungry Joe. His career accomplishments are monumental, that goes without saying. I do find his last several releases to be a wee bit less exciting, shall we say, than his first half dozen or so releases. I saw Joe live touring his A New Day Yesterday cd as well as several concerts since and some fairly recent tours as well. His playing, vocals and stage presence have certainly grown, as they should after all these years. I guess I would like to see the jeans and t-shirt Joe more often. Still a long time fan and will continue to spread the word of Joe's blues.

IMHO the best lineup he's ever had. Eric Czar is simply an incredible bassist. I can only speculate that egos got in the way of this band. What a shame. As a guitarist, I would thank my lucky stars if I had a rhythm section 1/2 as good.

As much as i like Joe's newer stuff and his every changing bandmates, this trio was something special. He has lost the rawness of the early performances, much more polished these days. Although his singing has improved over the years. I remember buying this cd and being blown away, i took my dad to SF to see him in 2007 only the first 10 rows were filled. It was an amazing concert but i could tell Joe was very disappointed with the turn out.

Kinda miss the Joe, Eric, Kenny line up. I like his current band line up and the whole Les Paul thing he's got going on now, but there's still something raw and brutal about a three piece band.

I wonder if the guitar tech was fired after this show. That strat held the tuning for about 2 1/2 minutes of the song. Thank God Joe switched to Les Paul from that wimpy Strat sound.
@hoop44010 жыл бұрын
I guess Hendrix Clapton Beck had it all wrong playing strats
@briangeorge578310 жыл бұрын
Lol! Its just such a big difference when switching from a LP to a strat. IMO 2 out of three of the guys you just mentioned sounded better with the LP.
@hoop44010 жыл бұрын
brian george lol well I disagree but its all good I prefer a strat but I have nothing against a LP and I own one and you are very right about switching but there is no way Hendrix sounded better with a LP.. Peace!
@briangeorge578310 жыл бұрын
I was referring to Clapton and Beck sounding better with a LP. Hendrix was a Monster on the Strat .. totally agree with that.
@jimizeppelin42010 жыл бұрын
you have to be a man to play a strat like hendrix, stevie or joe, shredding on an LP is a little easier probably because of the action

dude this isnt his best lyrical gig, he's an overall incredible musician and player, he can hit vocal notes as high as the heavens man
@Rudimentarypenis9 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say he's "bad". He definitely has a more stereotypical "white man blues" voice, a much different style than Ian's for sure. Overall, I thought it was a good take on JT, although I like the more subdued, less solo-y, original.
