When I first heard vic and the flecktones, it was life changing. Not only musically, but it shaped who I was as a person. Naturally, I gobbled up everything I possibly could find and saying that I’m a fanboy is a severe understatement. Is this the best lesson in improvisation I've ever seen? If simple is best, it is. If those five out of key notes are not wrong, then there are no wrong notes. It's just when we play them that makes them more or less cool, or nice, or sweet or grating or just right. And if it doesn't sound wonderful, nobody bleeds and nobody dies. We just get an opportunity to learn how to choose them better. More playing = more mistakes = more opportunities = more education = more eloquence........ Why practice when we can jam?
