When I first heard vic and the flecktones, it was life changing. Not only musically, but it shaped who I was as a person. Naturally, I gobbled up everything I possibly could find and saying that I’m a fanboy is a severe understatement. Furthermore, This clinic is not only for bass players, but all musicians and that’s the real magic that Vic was so kind to share with us.

I was fortunate enough to host a clinic with Victor in the early 2000's -- he's not only a stunningly gifted musician, but he's an absolute gem of a human. Getting to talk with him at length, listening to his stories and perspectives - it was nothing short of inspiring. What an experience.

In an online music landscape in which every other video is titled "10 things YOU are doing WRONG" or ""8 MISTAKES you MAKE all the TIME", it feels so refreshing to find someone so encouraging and positive about why it's OK to make "mistakes" or why you shouldn't be afraid to colour outside the lines. Every Victor Wooten lesson makes me enjoy playing music more than before.

Victor is an absolute treasure. I know whenever I click on a video interview with him I'm going to be transported to a world of pure music. I wish you could package his mindset and give it to every new musician on the planet.

Came to see his gear, but what I received was the best lesson of my life regarding music. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Victor Wooten, you're very inspiring! This video must be mandatory to any musician, no matter what level of knowledge. All music schools should recommend this to their students of any instrument. Thanks Sweetwater and Hartke for bringing this gem.

Victor Wooten is one of those guys whose sound is like nature itself. The epitome of being is to be absorbed by nature and to represent it and channel it to make your environment a place where freedom does not entail the need to be free. Music as a language is how we were designed to communicate our inner thoughts and feelings.

Is this the best lesson in improvisation I've ever seen? If simple is best, it is. If those five out of key notes are not wrong, then there are no wrong notes. It's just when we play them that makes them more or less cool, or nice, or sweet or grating or just right. And if it doesn't sound wonderful, nobody bleeds and nobody dies. We just get an opportunity to learn how to choose them better. More playing = more mistakes = more opportunities = more education = more eloquence........ Why practice when we can jam?
