After watching a few thousand hours this has got the be the absolute best in-depth series I have seen on KZbin for big-thinker entrepreneurs who are looking for detailed wisdom in building world class in a way that works and also make us look tasty to investors. I feel truly grateful. It is as if I've been listening to pop for months and turned the dial to discover real rock and roll. Thank you is a vast understatement - and even that is understated!

Do you have any more content that you can advise watching regarding building world class businesses, since you have watched so much?
@dosseyrichards16816 жыл бұрын
@@Vlekkeloos This entire series is gold. And I would say this one is the most "valuable" one. A good change in business model can turn a local laundromat into a large public company.

Lmao you're better off watching gurus if you spent thousands of hours listening to this BS without taking action. I'd like to know how many successful start ups acquisitions or roll ups he has accomplished.

This is one of the better business model videos on KZbin. But as an investor who has read many business proposals, most of them very well thought out by well educated people, the number of ideas that can pass the CORE test described in the early part of this video is very, very small. It simply isn't that easy to come up with a concept that delivers value to customers, disrupts the market, and is yet defensible against larger competitors. That is why most successful start ups are in technology, a relatively new segment of the economy. Outside of technology, there are very few successful start ups that disrupt the market or scale.
@ACCA2016 Жыл бұрын
I think the Microsoft office and google doc example are quite useful for other type of startup business to disrupt the traditional business. Because the traditional business won’t abandon the current profit model and the new business can deliver value and earn money from other places like advertising, lead gen etc.

This is by far one of the best Ivy League Executive Education I have ever received in my lifetime, and I didn't even have to enrol, pay, or subscribe-it's open, free, and accessible to everybody! Thank you so much, Harvard, for sharing all these videos on technology, business, and entrepreneurship! Making Ivy League education free to the public is like the gift that keeps on giving. If you haven't yet, I just want to know if you have ever considered offering certificates to members of the public, who could receive certificates after administering online tests based on the depth of their knowledge gained through a specific number of relevant videos they consume on a given subject? Looking forward to watching more of your content! Keep 'em coming! Thanks, Michael, for being such a great host and facilitator! You are doing such tremendously good work both here on KZbin and outside, where you also help other founders and entrepreneurs build and scale their own businesses. Thank you very much to you and the production team behind Harvard innovation lab!🙏😊 P.S. Now I know the reason behind the non-capitalization of the words 'innovation' and 'lab' in Harvard innovation lab-the logo is the abbreviated version: Hi. Genius!👌

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots, in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate, this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are way more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days, menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app.
@1008gonzo4 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could find under appreciated sou chefs who can do special menus for one night only work to promote exclusively on a delivery service like how there is the wings only model operating out of chilies and maggianos urgency sells. Operate out of a kitchen share so you only have kitchen cost when open and don’t have to pay to get your kitchen food safety certified. No front end employees since it is only delivery. Profit share with the chef so your overhead is restricted to advertising, food cost, and kitchen rental. Find a menu you can source at any grocery only plan for 20 portions then if sales over shoot you can get back ups ASAP.

There is value in here. But watch out for the vital things that are left out by the speakers, either because commercial presence (Drupals downsides) or because the speaker simply does not see giant contributing factors to success (“has zero to do with product”, or unmentioned need that business addressed). Marketing is important and may very well be the largest expense, but at its core its just a megaphone for the product market fit of your product.

HOW DO WE CREATE VALUE; 1. co-creation - open sourcing - open up your APIs (integrate your own internal products); 2. make the customer the product manager (open sourcing); 3. increase outreach - use leavers; 4. use multipliers -consider product design and use channel partners - think of where in the world would have the highest demand for your core values
