The greatness of this lady is her vulnerability. She uses that to connect with everyone and disarm them completely. An eloquent speaker, driven with an acute sense of purpose, she had it all before she came to Harvard. And yet, she is so unassuming and says the Harvard graduates are better off than most - and then cautions them saying they will all face difficulties in the journey of life, but if they follow through with the moral compass within themselves, they will emerge from a temporary setback to become more of who they are and they will be ok. Amazing pointer for young ones starting out, regardless of who they are. Ms. Winfrey, you sure did ok ;-) Thank you.

This was my graduation and it's the first time I saw the "Oprah effect." When she was up there receiving her degree one, of the professors hugged her and another one was like "wait...we can hug Oprah?? So then they all did it with these huge grins. It was a sight to see because even though in this speech she shows her admiration for Harvard, in the beginning it was the other way around. To see these professors in awe of her was kind of amazing. Disclaimer: that day was hot as hell, and as amazing as I knew this would be, I had to leave early for water and A/C. I saw this on KZbin the next day like everyone else! Lol

Oprah Winfrey is truly an inspiration to us all. I enjoy watching the Harvard KZbin videos of commencement speakers who share their testimonies of failures and success because some how I feel connected to them by our passion to want to help make a difference within society. Although I am almost as old as gray, which means I am probably older than most of the dreamers who dream to go to Harvard, my dream to be a civil rights lawyer is still ignited. My unfortunate experience which resulted to circumstances I would not wish for anyone was by no means the fault of my own. However, I thank my offenders for their offenses against me because in the midst of it all, I discover my passion for law. I developed an interest in reading and learning about the purpose of why laws are written and how they govern issues. I discover how the law can be used to make a difference to resolve offenses, and hold offenders accountable for their unlawful offenses. I want to make a difference within the surrounding communities where I am lead because I feel alive to be an advocate. Harvard Law school is my dream school. God bless Oprah Winfrey, the Harvard staff and faculty, and most importantly congratulations to all the graduates of all classes! Thanks for sharing! 🥳🎉🎊

@dhruvareddy291310 жыл бұрын
austin darling Actually I don't think there's much difference between the cost of university's at least around the top few. And there are a lot of subsidies plus most of the top few institutions accept students based on merit and not background. So the more drive to learn you show, the higher chances you have of getting into a good school and using better facilities to quench your thirst for knowledge :D There really is not much brainwashing going on here. The concept is fair and simple. There are financial incentives too, if you can't afford a good school like say Harvard.
