It's a treat to watch this giant machine work smoothly across the golden wheat fields. Truly a masterpiece of agricultural technology.

Its a very impressive set up you and your family have , all the farms are clean and tidy and well looked after like all the tractors and equipment,and you seam to have everything in place to keep a successful business going strong.

Good chunk of land cleared in a day mate👍. Not sure I wanna see the fuel bill for the combine and dryer that day 🫣😆. How’s the defender coming on?

Great video Andy. Is the unloading spout quite small? Looks like the trailer gets close to the header. Keep up the good 👍
@Itsafarminglifeforme2 ай бұрын
Cheers Josh yes the combine was specked with the short spout because I think the long wrap around one is designed for 35’ header. the tractors do run very close but it’s no bother 👍🏻

@@ItsafarminglifeformeI know 2 lads who have T660is, one has a hillmaster the other is just a regular machine, and they bough have the long foldable ones, one of them has a 22ft header, the other a 25ft header.

Great video 👍, can I just ask why do I see a lot of English farmers chopping their wheat straw including you, in Ireland we bale our wheat, barley, oat and rye straw and chop the osr and beans, unless the straw quality is very poor, even then half the lads would still bale it.
@Gregor-tf1ip2 ай бұрын
We bale most of our barley
@luvelyjubely2 ай бұрын
@@Gregor-tf1ip I know that’s what I was saying, I said most English lads bale the barley and oats but chop the wheat

Got more value in N than the worth of the straw.

The soil does need organic material to actually function. You can't just take take take and not give back otherwise the soil will be ruined.

@@Grover91 Yea that’s what I was saying chop the OSR

With the price of straw being strong this year I’m surprised you’re chopping yours.??
@Itsafarminglifeforme2 ай бұрын
I might be wrong but I think there is a lot more straw around than predicted and now price is dropping by the week…. Wheat straw down to 60£/tonne. Plus that ground is light flinty soil crying out for organic matter.

what a waste of straw if there is a shortage money in the pocket and a pain in the backside if your ploughing
@Itsafarminglifeforme2 ай бұрын
Good job we’re not ploughing then. We can’t keep taking crops off the fields every year without putting anything back in the ground.
