We grew cabbage commercially in Michigan for years, you bend the head of cabbage to the side and it will often snap at the stalk, if not, we use machetes - one hand on the cabbage and one to chop the stalk. Makes VERY quick work of harvest! Also, when our son was in kindergarten, he wanted to take a cabbage to school, we couldn’t put the head in a brown paper bag, it was WAY too big! We had to take it to school for him for show n tell! He was proud!!!
