Thank you for the video! I am making 3 hives like these for coming season. I am in Europe, so no japanese bees here, but I love the structure and simplicity of these hives. I bet european bees will like it too 🐝

It is a very interesting experiment to raise european bees in Japanese hives. Please let us know how it goes!

Please share the layout on how to do this hive or if you can make a video about the type of wood and dimensions. Thank you.❤

@@ninjawarble I am not sure if it's me you are asking but since it under my comment: I made it slightly bigger than japanese but smaller than Warre. I saw people do it in different dimensions along these and not seeing much difference. I do not remember now what exact size I did. Box itself is just a box - 4 planks of wood. Mine is 5 cm thick since we have cold winters and also boxes stand better on one another. I have only basic woodworking tools so it's impossible to make nice, even cuts. Internet had some plans and ideas and you can also search for warre hives to get an idea since they are similar in a way. I also made a quilt box like in warre to have some insulation in winter and feeding space. So just experiment. I have one nice strong family in it now of european bees, they seem to like it well enough.

I love how careful he is to not harm any of the bees.
Your bee box has many floors, the way you apply science to beekeeping is useful and scientific

I hope there are more additional information in other videos. Like, is is it all honey on top? And if yes, then why is it honey and not brood. Though I guess it depends on a season too...

Thank you for your comment. I am glad if you enjoyed different style of beekeeping. This is common hive to keep Japanese bees in Japan. Please take a look at my website too if you have time. www.japan-natural-beekeeping.org/
