Crazy ice storm, hydro has been out since about 4:00. We're practicing being off-grid.....lol 3 inches of ice pellets and snow on top of all the ice...c'mon spring!!

@MiAnUAcres still no hydro, all good though, we have wood stoves to cook and stay warm and generators for lights and keeping freezers cold. Just missing the solar system.

Canadian winters require us to be inventive and of course humour is a must but remember to plant them so we get new ones next year.

That was our first course of action! We buried some in the woods 2 inches below the snow, depending on how big the icicles were of course! We harvested so much this year, that we may be ok if we go a season without! Hope you had a great harvest!

Ohhh my goodness 😂😂😂 How dare Remi give away our nation's secrets like that!! Us Canadians were built on this traditional secret!! Well looks like it's out there on the world stage for all to take advantage of... wonder how they're going to manage down near the equator?? I know! Once I got over my shock and anger, I had to share! I didnt want people think I was hiding it from them 😂😂😂 I suggest we can some of the icicles up and send it down to the warmer states 😂😂😂😂

This is such an old secret, but now it's out, the world knows now. I have such a wonderful memory of my Oma harvesting icicles to set our jello. I especially like the pine flavoured ones, I'll leave the mud on tires to you, it's a little too fancy for me. You guys did the best icicle harvest video 😂 it the icing on the cake, or should I say icicle on the cake?!

We may have to go out and harvest ours tomorrow. We’ve been letting them grow and we have a couple that are about three feet. We’re hoping we haven’t left them too long. They tend to get tough once they get too big, and not as good flavour. 😁

I hope you are able to harvest today! Even after a snow storm last night (on top of the ice and thunder yesterday) today is beautiful and all is melted. Fresh icicle's are def the best but, with all the increases and inflation, any ice will do! 😂

Crazy ass weather I lost power at 1pm today and I held off till just before dark and spent an hour setting up the generator and running cords all over and what happens the bloody power came back 😡

Isnt that always the way??? Im glad your power came back on! I wish it came on sooner before all that work! The weather is nuts, last night we had a blizzard as well and today, sunny and all is melted! Glad we harvested the icicles yesterday 😂😂
