A lot of hard work harvesting those olives, and the almost casual way Andrius said another half ton to go left me speechless (not a bad thing to be fair 😂😂) I always learn from you lovely people, I never realised that olives were so important or that oil itself had so many uses
@portugalitis2 ай бұрын
ahh the olive oil is most important for us ... even today we still had picked more olives (last ones thank fully ) as we had some trees left .. we might get another 15L on oil .. and if we would sell it we would get 150 euros for it ;) But I use about 50 L oil through the year .. I don't use any other oil just olive as you can fry on it as well (When I lived in UK I was told we can't use olive oil for frying !!! what's not true !!!1 it's so much healthier to use olive oil that any other :) Gx

Lovely to see your new trees going in. We grew almonds on our farm when I was a child. The blossoms were amazing.. We had to wait ages for the nuts to be ready, but when they came my brother and I would sit for hours at a time cracking them with dad’s hammer. We were supposed to be doing it to supply mother’s pantry, but I think we ate almost as many as we saved Cheers for a future harvest ❤️❤️

Standard construction would be to cut bird-mouth notches at both load bearing points of the rafters so they'd have a flat spot to rest on (ridge beam & walls) and then the roof would not want to slide off the building. This way all of the force is relying on the fasteners only to hold the roof in place unless you are planning to tie the rafters together with a bottom cord wall to wall. Nice, fresh olive oil to show for your hard work and new trees too!
