I am thankful that this is the worst field we had. We were blessed with a good harvest this year but still hard seeing yields that I have no hope of breaking even on #farmwithzoe #harvest24 #cornharvest #ohiofarm #geringhoffusa

Great footage of your harvest. My Pop's 1st combine was a JD 30 pull type. 5 ft. cut ! Was in the 1950's. Took forever to cut 40 acres of beans. GH in MO

Like the cat socks. And George is right, I'm only 71 but agree with George. Kidding! I raised a daughter who liked to wear jeans like that, for a time.

Nice job on the chin-ups Zoe! Sorry the yields weren’t what you wanted on that field, but glad you got to have some Mexican food with Tanner!

Overall the other fields made up for the low yields, just so thankful the rest preformed better! 😊

It’s been a bad year in a lot of the states. Normal yield. For beans on my farm in middle TN. Is 65 to 70 bushels this year it was 38. I have rolling land so the low spots where the water runs to would be 55 and the high ground would be as low as 17. Just like going to Vegas.

Great job! Have you ever thought about wearing disposable plastic gloves when you work with oil and grease? For many years I never wore any gloves now I wear them all the time..saves your hands trust me!
@farmwithzoekent2 ай бұрын
Yeah I wear them sometimes but trying to film anything while wearing gloves is impossible so it’s either no gloves and film or gloves on and I don’t film 😂

@farmwithzoekent ok I understand..you are so lucky to still have your dad around and to be able to work with him every day..mine passed away suddenly like 14 years ago and I still miss him every day..great to see woman in the farming industry..keep up the good work! I enjoy watching your videos

@@paullhommedieu2795 love farming, but it’s stressful with the markets right now. KZbin takes a lot more time to film edit and upload than all the other social media channels but it’s giving me some decent revenue and it’s a fun challenge.

@farmwithzoekent that's great! Ya I heard corn kinda tanked? Good thing you have bin storage for your crops..with vegetables which is what I do there is no storage at least with the vegetables that I grow..and it's so labor intensive it's crazy

In Alabama we had an issue with a low line that no one would do anything about. I was told as long as the equipment is in legal transport position & it hits a line we as farmers are not liable. Whoever put the line up is responsible. Well with our issue we finally got tired of trying to top toe around the low line so someone hung it & ripped it down. Guess what. The phone company come put it up & this time they put it high enough & we haven’t had a problem since.

I’ve thought about trying to take it down myself 😅

If you do it with a piece. Of farm equipment then there’s nothing they can do

Why do farmers seem to always seem to save the worst for last? Do it first while you are energized and before you start burning out
@farmwithzoekent2 ай бұрын
This field was planted later than the other ones so we had to wait for the corn to be ready to harvest. We also didn’t know it was going to be the worst, I didn’t do too many yield estimates before we got to harvesting
@farmwithzoekent2 ай бұрын
Also for us the worst fields are usually the fields that have the worst drainage so they usually don’t get planted as early and for us the early stuff usually preforms the best!

Have you thought about wearing some disposable gloves to help keep grease of your hands?
@farmwithzoekent2 ай бұрын
My issue is that with disposable gloves on I can’t turn my camera on and off so either I have to film for the whole process or not wear a glove so I can hit start and stop on my phone. When I use gloves I typically just don’t film what I’m doing!
