Is this a 36” row skip pattern? Also what yield do you have to have to break even on dryland sorghum? Enjoy the channel keep it up I’m a former Arizona Milo cotton corn grower the dryland farming amazes me
@wildwestfarmerАй бұрын
No it’s a 30/50 pattern. Our irrigation is on 80 inch centers so that’s the pattern that we have for every acre (including dryland). We shoot for 2000 lbs an acre. That would be a successful dryland crop. Thanks for watching - glad you are enjoying it!

I watch a custom harvester running 2 combines from South Texas all the way to North Dakota and they both have a chain mounted at the rear axle that drags a little on the ground to keep down static electricity to hopefully lessen the risk of a fire.

Kacey-(spelling?) what do you think of dumping on the go directly into the truck instead of dumping into a cart. It would mean less fines in the grain because of less augering and I think that it would work fine on the long straight rows..

In theory that sounds wonderful. But i don’t want the stalks to rip all the electric & airlines from under the semi & also create a compaction issue in some areas of the field.
