Just out of intresed. Why do these tractors have a license plat?

It's required by law to be road legal. They also changed that you now need a drivers license. In the past all you needed to drive a tractor was being a 16 year old. I guess that was considered unsafe thus a drivers license is now required which in return requires tractors to have a license plate.

Now? They had a driver license for tractors 12 years ago, and if I'm correct way before that (Netherlands).

Martin Skevla in The Netherlands they don't have and need a license plate unless they drive in another country like Belgium and Germany like "Kris Postma" mentioned. So that is why you see farmers from the Netherlands having license plates on their tractors when they live close to the border.
