I had seen it as a kid on t.v iraq in early 80s and I,m still watching it as a old man

Lol! I always remembered the evil smile on the robot at the end.

Me, too, as well as the wind up toy mouse scaring the wits out of Electronica thereby putting an end to her.

Who would have guessed that the title of this episode would be identical to that of a musical genre in the new millennium?

A Felix cartoon made later that year, the same I was born, Cleaning House, used a similiar plot with ROsie the Robot, NOT the one from the late rJetsons (and Felix used some of the music from this.)

Ah,yes,the one BIG drawback to Electronica,well trained though she is to do housework-as the salesman tells Henry,"She must specifically be told to stop,once she's done,otherwise she just keeps repeating whatever she was told to do." Lol,at the evil grin on Henry's wife's face @ 4:55, all like "THIS should fix that Electronica!"(the surprise of the toy mouse,of course,which does indeed kill Electronica.) Typical plot,of these Harveytoons/Nolveltoons cartoons,domestic issues between a husband and wife,indicating that their marriage has indeed seen better days.

Henry should have told Electronica to stop serving coffee before he answered the phone,another drawback to his new robot servant-she can only respond to his voice,and no one else's.

The one you're referring to, 'woodsz', is the 1959 Casper cartoon, "Down To Mirth"; Jack Mercer was also the voice of the mad scientist, "Professor Brainstorm".

thanks for posting, brings back many memories...I've been searching on here for a "Modern Madcap" about a mad scientist who creates this anti-gravity device so if anybody has it please post or let me know if you have...thanks.

Bravo,Henry,for getting your overbearing,hen pecking wife back at the end,by turning the tables on her,with the help of your "whip cracking" robot! Also,I know Henry's failing to tell Electronica to stop serving coffee when he answers the phone and also when he goes out to treat himself to a beer(thus resulting in the robotess throwing the dishes down the dumbwaiter,the wife desperately saving them and crashing into Electronica,thus rendering her haywire)is the whole humor of the cartoon,but still,poor Henry,having such a bossy wife-no wonder he turns the tables and cracks the whip on her at the end.

I love the jazzy open music after the title, but no credits (of coruse WInston Sharples was music director & Seymour Kneitel was director of these later Parmaounts-this was not a Harveytoon but Modern Madcap.1960)
@LogoAttitude15 жыл бұрын
no, actually, that's the 1955-65 Noveltoons/Modern Madcaps theme - it just happened to be on a few Baby Huey cartoons, because they were released as Noveltoons Oh, at 0:07 you can tell this was originally a Paramount cartoon from the font used in the words "Presents A..." - the word "Paramount" is blacked out

Henry seems more like a little brother than a husband; for one thing considering he's much shorter than his wife, for another the way she lords it over him big time(at least until the very end, that is!)

Seriously, was tripping off the same thing. This movie also embraces some common computer concepts people wouldn't know about until years later. The robot causes destruction because she has no way to determine when a loop should end on her own.
@MrJamieMurph41419695 жыл бұрын
Unless Henry is the one to tell her to stop. I've always thought robots are like "Frankenstein's monsters," in that they really can get out of control and only end up creating more problems than they solve.

Bender would really go for Electronica. He likes a fembot with a lot of junk in the trunk.

Popeye....er...I mean Jack Mercer is an incredible voice actor.
@fromthesidelines17 жыл бұрын
Jack Mercer is the voice of "Henry". Harvey Publlications/Films acquired all of Paramount's 1950-'62 cartoon library {except Popeye} by 1962, and repackaged them as "Harveytoons" on "MATTY'S FUNDAY FUNNIES" and "THE NEW CASPER CARTOON SHOW", and eventually in syndication.
