A beautifully-filmed and very informative video. Takes me back to my visit to Wernigerode, Brocken and Nordhausen in June 1994, when the summit of Brocken was shrouded in fog and we could hear, but not see, the heavy machinery engaged in the demolition of the ex- GDR military installations. In those days the HSB narrow gauge lines were still operated by Deutsche Bahn, but unfortunately it was before my days of making videos.

Made the journey in January from Berlin in a day.The trees were covered in in ice from freezing fog as we approached the Brocken, It was bitterly cold up there and the hot drinks at the cafe was most welcoming.Changed trains at Drei-Annen-Hohe as the last train of the day was going to Nordenhausen and caught the ex Nordenhausen there back to Wernigerode, caught the Regiobahn to Halle and ICE back to Berlin.Made the outward journey via Magdeburg.Used the Handy DB App.Pun intended!

Wonderful railway line. I travel to the Harz almost every year from the Netherlands to enjoy it. Did you notice in how seriously bad shape nature is??? So many dead trees.....

So clean this place, only western cultures can keep like this

Dude. I’m from Germany. I have seen plenty of very dirty places in Germany and also plenty of clean places in non western countries. This has nothing to do with it.
@FYCH454 жыл бұрын
Japan is a very clean country. So are Taiwan and South Korea. You are obviously judging "non-western" cultures by the standards of India and Pakistan. And there are many dirty places in western countries. I remember a wood in North Wales (UK) which was being used as a dump for rubbish. And even Switzerland is now afflicted by graffiti vandals.
