India's exports in this sector are only $15bn. Right time to increase India’s exports of ready-made garments by at least $10bn more. India was major exporter of cotton & synthetic fibers to Bangladesh accounting for 20-25% of imports by Bangladesh in 2023, but India imported readymade garments from Bangladesh in 2023 worth $1.89bn. Am bengali, just to inform all...this year hilsa fish has been exceptionally high in India itself, specially at Ganges, diamond harbour, haldi river and odisha...price is also cheaper than Bangladesh in Kolkata and even other cities like Mumbai and Delhi bengali markets. Further, in Mumbai, we also get hilsa from the Gujarat delta which is as good as Bangladesh/ diamond harbour variety. Indian government marketing Gujarat hilsa in bengali markets across India would help it further
