I adore Dave for almost everything he teaches, how much he cares about the fundamentals, how much he cares about people...and he’s smart as hell. But Michael Saylor is smarter. “Bitcoin is for everyone.” To be “against” bitcoin simply means that you don’t understand it. To not understand it means that you simply haven’t put in the effort to do so. And we are now back to “everyone gets bitcoin at the price they deserve.”

Yes! Been doing the same, but I started when it was around 44k…. My house is paid off, and I have no debt. I invest in stocks and CDs, but BTC is a tiny part of my portfolio; I’ve been putting in $50-100/month for a couple years now regardless of price; and is purely speculative so if it goes to zero, that’s ‘okay’; it was my vegas money. But so far, it’s been doing pretty good overall….👍👍🙂

Very poor optics here on Dave's part.. As is said by many BTC proponents: Everyone will get BTC at the price they deserve.. The way he dropped Buffets name is so lame.. Is it really that difficult to understand how many 80+ year old's fail to grasp what is happening currently with BTC..? @@ASimoneau it takes two to tango. New bitcoiners tend to brag on their first cycle up. It’s just human nature to try to share your success. On the other hand when bitcoin goes down all the skeptics celebrate. This cycle has been happening for about a decade now, and it will continue forever because most people enjoy saying “I told you so.” Bitcoiners tend to be more open minded which isn’t always the best trait to have in an adversarial system but without that mindset, innovation would never happen. On the flip side if you are entrenched in the status quo, you can be left in the dust rather quickly. The middle class is disappearing at an alarming rate because most people are asleep at the wheel.

Part of the problem is the young get-rich-quick crowd in the Crypto space. They give BTC a bad reputation with their Social Media content screaming at their viewers to go "ALL-IN" on this or that or the other. Meanwhile the commonsense advisors get drowned out, that advise just making BTC a 1%-5% part of your investment portfolio. I think Dave is simply turned off by the way the Crypto space can get overly euphoric when a Bull Cycle starts and prices start sky rocketing, it does bring out a lot of Crypto Frauds, unfortunately. And I'm sure Dave, is biased because, due to his line of work, he's more likely to hear about those who've lost money in Crypto, and gone into debt, trying to "time the markets" instead of dollar-cost-averaging or using a long-term investing strategy, which is where BTC shines, like a fine Whine, the older it gets the better it is.

It was Buffet's friend Charlie Munger that said "“I never allow myself to hold an opinion on anything that I don't know the other side's argument better than they do”. Dave is and has been wrong on bitcoin for years and it diminishes him in my eyes because he lacks the intellectual curiousity to understand what he is missing. Also, its 2024. Buffet has many times stated he had no prior knowledge or interest in investing in the Tech Sector, he just recently bought some Tech Stocks well after their initial Bull Run of 500-1,500% gains. Buffet is great for advice in the Old Guard Markets that have been around since Wall Street was established, but for anything Tech related from 1990 and beyond he is the WORST. That's why most in the BTC community laugh at the old dufus, because he talks out both sides of his mouth. On one hand he'll openly admit he doesn't care to understand the Tech Sector but then turns around and tells the Public that BTC is trash, a product specifically created from complicated Block Chain Tech, a field he has absolutely no clue about.

Dave is correct in his assessment of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies...they are currencies, commodities, and one thing he never mentions is they are truth machines. Computer chip processing has been pushed further, renewable cheap electricity has been pushed further, and many businesses are making very nice profits from this entire ecosystem. Again...I'll stress, he's right it's not a stock and no one should ever treat it as one. There are more responsibilities required to properly manage a crypto portfolio vs. paying a financial advisor that has their own interests and wallets to care for. It's better for you to read, learn, ask questions, and be responsible for your own financial future. Dave is a solid resource for things that most times are never taught in school.

To call it nothing made out of thin air would be the same as saying this very website you're reading this comment on is also nothing made out of thin air. Bitcoin is global, secure, cyber real estate with a finite supply. I respect the boomers going down with the fiat ship, but those of us with 30+ years of investing to go, I believe, are acting very rationally to at least put a portion of our investment portfolio into Bitcoin (and Bitcoin only, no other unstable cryptocurrency aka shitcoin.) Say what you want, but I've literally gone from $22k in Q4 of last year to over $50k now, and we haven't even seen the halving yet. Can't say what it will do from here on out, but it's achieving higher highs and maintaining higher lows for over a decade now. At some point we need to swallow our pride and look more into what's driving a global currency revolution.
