The game lost his soul for sure. I have played the game for five years. Four honor was a game about reading your foes' playstyle and stamina was a precious resorce. Parries pushed stamina. Spam was a certain loss because would read you like a book. Now the game is fast and pure spam. People attacks because attacking means you are not being attacked. There a Lost of ways to oneshot during ganks. No reading or minimum reading. Stamina is infinite. This is It.
@MisterArdor25 күн бұрын
@rafaelmoisesbezerradasilva7271 The CCU really switched things up, which led to adjustments being made to stamina bullies like Jorm and minor ones to Cent. I do believe even with the speed of the game now you can still make reads, it's just different. You know how it goes. Like if you're both one hit, you may read that you're opponent likes to throw likes. It's all tendency-based and that's what can separate players for sure. I still think it's a part of it and that's why you see teams go up 500 or 600 to 100 in Dom and then another team comes back. It's because of those adjustments. Unfortunately, spam is always going to be prevalent on some level, we'll never get away from that, but players on your level that have been playing for five years should run into less of that with the SBMM, but that's asking that the system works as intended. I personally don't like SBMM since it can produce too many sweaty matches at times, but with this game it may work...when working 😂 Appreciate the take 💪🏽and for watching! 🫡

Trying to balance the game caused everyone have side dashs, bashes, cheesing combos, etc.

I have played for honor off and on for several years now. I loved the heroes, the combat style…having to read opponents and make good decisions. It felt like a FIGHT. Now, it’s just devolved into teams gaining their opponents into oblivion, people spamming the same moves, most of the time you can’t even do anything or react, or playing nothing but bullshit characters like Pirate or Hitokiri that are so brain dead to use and almost impossible to fight. I came over to for honor from Chivalry 2, now I find myself having more fun in that, because it feels like my skill ACTUALLY matters and I can’t just get spammed to death. For honor now just feels like, if you don’t have the BEST connection and FASTEST reaction times, you WILL NOT win. And for someone like me, that’s only like rep 26, it makes me never want to play. Feeling like there is literally nothing you can do to win a fight is disheartening and makes you feel like you’ll never get good enough at the game to have fun. And it only gets worse as your reps get higher, and you start matching with players that have been playing for YEARS
@MisterArdor24 күн бұрын
@ashleejones586 The ganking can be overwhelming, especially when you run into a team or a group of experienced players playing together. There are growing pains in this game that are frustrating and the worse part is, it will continue to happen if you random matchmake no matter what level you are at, because there's only so much you can defend against without teammate help. Have you tried playing duels or Brawls. Do some PvAI when you start 4s and make sure you use the hero tactics to help you learn what your hero can do. How to defend against other heroes you don't know is where it gets dicey, but if you stick to it, you'll get it, and it will be more fun. You also have to set your expectations for players, and hopefully, you'll get less frustrated and just enjoy your experience. A game mode that's team but separate is Elimination. A series of 1v1s (potentially) until there's one left. Hope you keep giving it a shot! I tried Chivalry 2 for a quick sec, maybe I should try it again! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🫡

Yes, It had lost it's soul. I have been playing For Honor since Beta and left when Ubisoft decided to throw the main identity of "Knights, vs Vikings and Samurai" concept into the bin and focusing on "Good vs Evil" narrative, reference to Horkos and Chimera. It's an terrible idea that caused more harm than good. For Honor Content creators will gaslight you into thinking this is the right path of For Honor. The main issue is For Honor had the potential to become one of gaming's unique title in the world but unfortunately, due to Ubisoft's incompetence, For Honor will never reach the heights and the damage has already been done therefore there's nothing we can do.

Really upsetting they could never get a balanced matchmaking system. I think it used to be just mediocre but now is a disaster. I’ve been playing on and off since launch and every game now feels like a massive blowout. Especially in breach, whereas a solo queuer it feels like I only run into competitive 4 stacks who perfectly gank and swap out for eachother to go heal. Meanwhile your braindead teammates just run into the healing zone alone to get slaughtered instead of trying to do an objective. Your team will have a combined 15 takedowns while all opponents will have 30+ individual takedowns. The playerbase dwindling over time is a big reason why this has happened. The unbalanced state of the game and matchmaking has continued to decline since 2017. Every new hero since Gryhpon feels like a cash grab designed for meta slave sweats who play in a 4 stack.

@_Kakoosh You're right about Matchmaking! It's never felt quite right, even beyond the stacks. Breach is probably my least favorite mode when going against stacks, especially on defense! It could be a lot of fun if more players were in tune with what they needed to do, compared to your teammates. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🫡

That is what makes similar weapons in the game so interesting! When it comes to goofy ahh effects and theatrical content, I know a lot of people that just wish they could at least turn off effects on their side. Me personally, I have came to care less for the effects and universal goofy exes. I like unique authentic content as it is the coolest kind in my eyes. We see it everywhere. “stop making universal content and stick with unique content for heroes”. And the group that’s like “even if you gotta focus only on newer heroes to catch them up” wich I agree with! At the end of it all though, I don’t think it’s lost its soul!

4:45 I don't know I'm kind of with you but at the same time coming from someone who's played for Honor since the beta the original game was just a staring contest most of the time you can sit there and just stare at your opponent's face and carry everything that came which made the game really slow and boring. There are many different problem characters with really wacky and dumb gimmicks do people remember when shugoki had hyper armor on any hit as long as he waited long enough? Shove on Block? The many other issues like glad on release basically being a death sentence if you were Out of Stam ect. The CCU changes made a lot of changes that I agree with and a lot that I don't but I think that the game overall is better than what it was previously. No longer do I just have to sit and stare at a warlord for 5 minutes or fight a Conq who could just turtle and win after a giving you a few stray hits. Doesn't have problems currently they clearly do I think it lost its original vision. To the core it is still a weapon based fighter with a unique combat system that hasn't been really replicated in any other game yet (Minus Absolver I absolutely LOVE that game but wish it had more time and money.) All in all I don't think most people know what the soul of For Honor was in the first place, I don't even think the devs did. Show me I feel like the game is a few changes away from being genuinely great thank just good enough. @themystikone First, thanks for the sub! I appreciate it and not all vids are the same, but I hope you keep coming back to the channel to support. Second, what you stated about knowing For Honor soul is part of the difference. I purposely didn't want to define it because I do believe it's subjective according to the player. While I don't think it's lost its soul because the game is still the same. I reference it to people in general. People can get faster, jump higher, change their style of clothing, but through it all they could maintain there same basic beliefs that truly carry them as a person. That's For Honor. Yes the game sped up, yes its gone through changes the player base didn't expect including dressing up the game with events like Light of the Guardians, but at its core, at its soul, its still the same game. And that's why I still get that feeling when the horn sounds at the beginning of a Dom match. I appreciate the take and if you like this video, you may also like a few others. Look through my For Honor news and info Playlist or even click on this vid about Standards. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2ichIeImLaWo7c I just speak on whatever For Honor speaks to me with, sometimes good and sometimes bad, but always me 😂 Thanks for commenting and watching! Great video. I don't think it lost its soul. But I think all those little parts you mentioned (emotes, skins, certain heroes, effects, etc.) are chipping away tiny bits of its soul. In exchange those bits staunch the bleeding in terms of 'falling behind' with newer generations of gamers (and older ones that are bored and want flashy things). I personally despise those bits and the optimist in me believes that sticking to the original vision would in the end pay off in terms of player count and financially. The realist in me however acknowledges this is a risky bet and going in a mainstream direction with the style of the game is much safer for the devs. I think it is a testament to the core concept of for honor that despite those annoying (at least for me) additions (taints) there is still enough intact soul to make the game very fun to play. But I am not sure how many more bits can be chipped away.

This is going to be a mouthful, sorry in advance. I’ve played since beta. It definitely has lost its soul and its quality as well. Here’s what I think has changed for the worse: The story and premise changed from Knights vs Vikings vs samurai to Horkos vs Chimera, a cliche good vs evil narrative with none of the moral nuance that made the campaign so memorable. Nowadays the devs writing capabilities are so lacklustre, they just tell one off stories that don’t change the world of For Honor at all. For Honor to me, felt like a story about distinct unique cultures clashing for survival, and now there’s too many cultures to represent effectively. The addition of the Wu Lin was cool but they had no in game presence aside from their heroes and the couple maps they have. Ubi didn’t add them to the faction war or give them their own minions. They kept adding new heroes despite the fact that each new hero just increased their workload in terms of balancing, armor and hero specific content. And instead of capping the amount of heroes to focus on other things, they introduced the another faction, the outlanders. Along with them getting rid of minion kill animations, they keep making the event minions stay for the whole season, meaning that the attacking minions always look the same no matter what (always having that same dragon pattern too but that’s not as important). The dynamic of the minions changing based on the two factions that’d be control of the territory is no longer present. And then you have all the silly emotes and executions. You basically summed it up yourself, if you don’t like em, don’t buy em, but if you don’t like seeing them it’s annoying when other players have them. There’s also so little hero specific content, everything is universal, so it feels like the devs don’t care about the heroes personalities. Hitokiri for example, is an executioner but the last 3 unique executions they’ve gotten don’t decapitate. I just want a sequel.
@MisterArdor15 күн бұрын
@monstrospotatoes8484 Solid take for sure. I wouldn't mind a sequel and if they said the next Outlander hero will be the last hero for this version and in the same breath said they are already working on For Honor 2 I would be hyped! I'm guilty of feeding the machine because I keep playing this game and buying some but not all of the awkward things that are made available. Would I say its lost its MAIN thing? No. Id say the very core components of old For Honor are still there and that feeling is there. BUT its had alot of reshaping and additions. For some folks thats enough to say its completely gone. But as someone who's played since its release with like only a 1 year break after the Wu-Lin release the games center is still intact. I think the biggest disconnect for players vs the game is the fact players got so dang good. A mid tier player today? Would dominate early For Honor. I feel like the game has lost its soul a bit. Part of what made old for honor unique is that truthfully, no one knew what they were doing early on, over the 8 years the game has been out, the playerbase has grown, and because of that the gameplay has changed to meet the new standards. We see it in a lot of character balancing and reworks, sure not every OG character was balanced by any means, but all new content seems to be completely focused on just being viable rather than being fun. It seems like they have a checklist for every hero or rework so that the hero can feel powerful rather than just being enjoyable. As for the event content, for honor has always been a little goofy at times, and sure the crossover stuff can be immersion breaking, but as for regular event stuff I rarely have complaints. I think the game lost its soul around year 4, the shitty story shift, some of the CCU changes, the factions suddenly “working as one”, the changes to the revenge system, removal of team colors, and since then I feel there has been a lot more negative than positive changes. But I will still play this game until the servers go down because I’m crazy
