Top painter at my work owns both. Had his Evo 1 for 10 years and prefers that. Says the new one feels too big in his hand, I held both and the new one is definitely bigger. I used his Evo 1 for the first time the other day, loved it so much I spent £450 on one as soon as I got back

Great video! I am confused by your warning to not buy these guns if a DIY, novice painter though. It sounds like these guns will save a lot of time, headaches and give consistent, superior results. Doesn't it make sense to buy the best gun and invest the learning curve into the ultimate gun you will end up with anyway? Given the high cost of materials, shouldn't we strive for the best result from the beginning?

The LS400 HVLP was designed to atomize the droplets of water-based paint, which is well applied wet, which is why the nozzle of the LS400 et green is much larger than the nozzle of the WS400 OBS Blue. I have all 2 and the difference is very big when applying solvent base

If you want a good setup on the ws400 clear coat, remove one turn, just open 2 turns of fan and 4 turns of material at 30 psi. It's my go-to setup on that gun using a high solids clear coat, and it's the best gun I've ever used for the clear coat 😊

So interesting your perspective on the Series 2. I know TheGunMan speaks poorly of them saying they are a pain in the ass to dial in. But tbh, he is negative with almost any spray gun that is not a GTI Prolite. I am torn between a Sata 5500 1.3I or a Iwata w400 Bellaria for my clear gun. You mentioned about clear being piled on around the edges and I see that a lot when some technicians spray a super high european 2:1 solid clears with a Sata RP gun. The Sata's with that O Pattern just loves to pile on clear. I am geared more toward restoration/custom work so I am trying to achieve that super flat finish. I am definitely going to look more into the WS400 series 2 gun for clear now. I just hear soo many mix reviews. Thanks Brian

I use both base and solvent based on what the client is paying and the WS base spray’s solvent better than the LS base does, it’s more about air consumption and saving materials with the LS guns, no different than satas HVLP and RP, iwata LS is HVLP, WS is compliant like satas RP and most other brands “HTE”
@mundotuningcustompaint3488
@mundotuningcustompaint3488 6 ай бұрын
Yea Because the WS400 Blue is the gun designed for solvent-based, the LS400 was designed for water-based, not solvent-based
@BryanMiranda96
@BryanMiranda96 6 ай бұрын
@@mundotuningcustompaint3488 no it isn't, the difference in the LS and WS isn't material based, it's based on transfer efficiency, the LS is designed to save as much material as possible, just like every other HVLP version of a spray gun. The point of HVLP regulation is to makeguns that save material for the consumer. For a shop that goes through 100 gallons of clear coat in a month the LS is made to get more of that on the car rather than over spray, the WS is made for consumers that prioritize finish quality and speed over material savings

great content. big fan for years (before you moved). will you be moving to water-borne, I mean incorporating it into your lineup? it would be great to see you welcome and include it in regular demos. I know it is not popular yet in your area, but it is in other (large segments) geographies. it is the future, and this is the society of paint. the thing is the art of paint: application, technique, knowledge. the move away from solvents can be looked at as the same historical change when we moved away from lead. I love the growth and change. let's get ahead of the curve and look into water-borne techniques.

I have both. They deliver like a sata but they are probably the most finicky guns on the market. Setup must be excellent and on tee or not the best for noobs. I saw that with your base coat. I said it looks like a factory panel not a respray. It looked like straight off a line panel. I have yet to use my entech 400 and ws 400. Still using my sagola. And my old tekna copper. Someday will have some fun.

@@dogemcmoon9644supposedly the entech 400 or ls I have the version one. So it hvlp and easier to handle but still the fluid pressure distance and fan issues. They are finicky and they need to be set perfect. More oem type peel imo. Ws 400 is just like u see super fine. Basically hides the result by coming out really like straight off the line panel. Sata doesn’t do that it belts it out. And notice u really wouldn’t need to cut anything as the finish is so fine and perfect not much to do to send it to customer. Really an excellent gun but not really for your noobish guy. The settings as he says really need to be close to perfect or you’ll get run city or just too much build certain areas or dry spot from bad fan setup. It’s too wide factory and needs like 1 to 11/2 turn in
