Thank you so much for the kind words. It means alot to us. Unfortunately this channel simply has less demand as it covers Cars and CUV's. Our main channel (kzbin.info) covers Trucks and SUVs which seem to get more traffic. Thank you for watching, it helps a ton!

Excellent review. Two months ago I leased an Artisan Red CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus identical to the one you tested. I decided to lease: both because this is a first year model, and because of that sweet $7500 incentive on the front end! I absolutely love it, and also have experienced MPG-e numbers in the mid-50's! I can easily do my 12-mile round trip commute to work plus a stop at the grocery and dry cleaners on the way home on all-electric! It's great! While obviously not a deal-breaker for me, I did notice the initial jerky shifting. But so many reviews advised that the software update would solve that issue. Indeed, Mazda came through with a software update that has dramatically improved the real world driving experience. The transmission no longer seems to randomly hunt for gears at low speeds. More importantly for me, the steering is no longer overly heavy. Im a big guy and prefer an 'engaging' driving experience, but it was way too 'labored' initially: not the driving experience you'd expect in a 'premium' suv of this size. After the update, I noticed the difference instantly while pulling out of the dealer service area. Still plenty of Mazda-style road feel, but now it doesn't feel like a workout just to exit the parking lot. So...prospective buyers take note: with the software upgrade, the CX-90 driving experience is now essentially in line with that of the CX-70.

Really like the comment you made about the top end trims and the luxury crowd buying them. It really compares better to BMW and Mercedes than Telluride and Palisades which are FWD biased and naturally have more space. I totally agree with not being able to have the gauges when using cruise control.

Amazing review of the real criticisms and positives of the CX-90. Appreciate the honest journalism here.

I have a CX-70 Turbo S Premium. The engine and transmission are silk. The engine does have a bark when you get into it, but still smooth. Love how the transmission works now too. I test drove a CX-90 Preferred last year and it was awful. Jerky weird transmission and the engine was less refined than the CX-5 Sig we had then. The CX-70 is much improved over the early CX-90s. And the early ones will be with updates.

I have a cx-90 preferred plus. I am not bothered by the shifting patterns.

Do you guys know what they did to the transmission? I have the phev and the jerkiness of the transmission is driving me nuts.

See your local Mazda dealer. There is a TSB for updating the transmission software and it may not have been updated on your vehicle.

One more observation, it WASN’T a CX-70 when you lowered the 3rd row seats because you only had 4 seats. Honestly, if I did not need or want the 7 seats if I would get the CX-70. I like the different interior and exterior options as well has the sporty no chrome look.

question when do you press the charging button? it makes no sense or what is the purpose for it?

Good review overall but your take on the smaller wheels looking better is wacky. This car looks so low grade without these larger wheels.

How do we get 490 miles with full tank of gas and full charge . Dashboard shows 290 miles for gas and 23 miles for charge. Appreciate if anyone can explain

How many weeks ago did you purchase the vehicle? Brand new the car has no history to guess your driving style. So it will be biased in estimating worse mileage. Over time the car learns how you drive and will provide higher numbers provided driver is gentle on gas pedal.
@David_Journey6 ай бұрын
You can increase your gas mileage by charging the car overnight. Also by setting the recharge limit to a closer % to where your battery charge level is at for longer trips (then the car becomes a hybrid and the generator does not put additional load on the engine - which affect mpg and recharges your battery with gas engine)

@@David_Journey when we fully charge the vehicle, Is it better to use EV mode first or just leave it to normal mode to obtain best mileage . Thank you

I'm averaging over 75 MPG according to the display, of course that is due to frequent charging and electric only most of our drives. 4000 miles so far and only on our fourth full tank of fuel.
