Man the rawness towards the end was real! Thank you for sharing! Akah you have to rewatch and hear truly what Claire is saying, Youre a great hubby and dad but she might be saying she wants a little break every other day to regain that strength because she will end up burning out. She is saying it calmly so it can be easily missed! Love you guys

Hmmmm when claire talked about waking at night, honestly no matter how much one is sensitive before having a baby can never prepare one after having a baby,,hyper sensitivity pro max! My husband can sleep on trailer but once we had a baby we started shifts cause the mental work for caring for a child is more on the women hence i need the night sleep. Beautiful conversation!

Nice pod, I think clear is just saying Akah should involve her in how the money comes and goes and I assure you it makes couples bond more, especially when they plan financially together on what came in and how it leaves the account. I do that with my husband always Infact he lets me manage income and outflows so am involved and don’t feel left out. Nice one akah and Clair

Thank you both for sharing. I really like how honest you both are. I like what Claire brought up about getting support from husband specifically with changing diaper. This conversation reminded me of a man that posted on IG requesting readers to advice him because his wife had refused sex and they have a 10 month old baby. The first commenter said, sir, how are you helping her with the new born? are you rotating sleep at night to feed? etc. I feel this is a very important conversation to have that our men can also change diapers, read books with their kids etc.

Akah did a good job of letting go quite a bit… Claire, Ask for help when you need it… give yourself grace and just ask… mismanaged expectations are killing marriages everywhere … I would love to hear more letting go of some of the rigid rules and rhetoric … they kill romance. Claire, i think you have to stop comparing your parenting to that of other families. Your husband is a breadwinner. You can't have the best of both worlds. "Father going to work and coming back to take over" ?? That's for women who share breadwinner'ship with their men😂. Akah should take some tasks off you, bond and raise his daughter. That's right but having a man that pays the bills and takes care of his home properly, (in this generation) that's a blessing! Please drop "some" expectations you have of him. God bless your home!❤

You are in no position to tell her anything about how she wants her home run. Once we see a man doing the most in a family, we tend to think, oh wow! He’s doing a lot because in most of our African homes, such is hardly expected. We suddenly think he’s a golden man and shouldn’t be stressed. What do you mean in this “generation?” It is actually in this generation that women should be demanding more! If you come to my house then you’ll choke. Part of the reasons I honestly do not entertain female friends. It’s my home, you have no right to voice your opinion about how it’s run if I didn’t ask for your opinions. Fem! 🤐 😊

I no dey feel una vibes. Especially the guy. Something’s off. From the way the guy pronounces his words [his voice pitch], his gestures [facial expressions, hand movements], etc, I suspect say the guy no dey connected to im masculinity. He comes across as a husband who tries not to offend his wife [not saying he should do so but he did not, for once, attempt pulling his wife’s legs during the convo]. Dude probably lives in the fear of saying/doing the wrong stuff. I hope, genuinely, that I’m wrong. Really. Anyway sha, happiness na the most important thing. And you two look it. 🥂

To be honest, that mother instinct is already inbuilt in a woman’s DNA. So, if a man is actually “PRESENT” be very appreciative. I learn something from what both of you said in the “I” for me, I noticed that my husband is a spender (sometimes irresponsible about it) because of that I have allowed him carry a lot of the bills such as the wants/needs. However, once in a while, I come in as a subordinate 😊. For us, it’s working out perfectly for us. I’m loving this and y’all keep it up.❣️💯👏🏾🫂
