I have two X-E1 s. I took one of them out on an overcast day with dull ,boring light and came back with pictures with pleasing nice wonderful colors and greatness. Jpegs all the way.

Really enjoying your channel. Very informative. I recently got my passion back for photography but I'm losing myself in the world of modern technology. I find my eyes drawn towards the older digital cameras and finding your channel very helpful.

@@ChrisEdgecombePhoto hi Chris, I managed to get hold of an X e1 a couple of days ago. I noticed that images out of camera (jpeg and raw) are more over exposed to the image I set up for. Is this something you're familiar with? Is there any way to get a truer image to the shot I expose for? Thanks in advance.
@ChrisEdgecombePhoto Жыл бұрын
@@Chum_chumi Its not something I've had an issue with. I suggest checking the EVF/LCD brightness settings in the menu (spanner 2) to see whether that is the issue. Failing that, perhaps reset the camera to factory settings to see if that fixes things (make sure you save any photos on the SD card first...).

@@ChrisEdgecombePhoto thanks for the advice. The reset seemed to do the trick 👍

Nice pictures; the X-H1 is clearly more saturated and visibly sharper than the X-E1 but by no means a night and day difference, I do like the more subtle tones of the X-E1 and has along with the X-Pro1 always produced my favourite people pictures. Again loving the photos, and enjoying the videos.
@ChrisEdgecombePhoto Жыл бұрын
Thank you robert, I agree the tonality of the XE-1/X-Pro1 images are much more pleasing. I'm not a fan of the overly harsh look to the X-H1 images. I wonder whether this has been improved in later X-trans generations?

I've had a succession of Fuji cameras, but I've settled on an X-H1 for most things and an X-E1 for a different flavour. The big Fuji is in every measurable way a far, far better camera and I even like it more than the more recent Fujis I've had, but there's just something I like about the images from the X-E1 which makes me keep it around. Also, it's a lot more convenient to just stuff in my pocket with a pancake lens on it than the X-H1, haha.

Thanks for the comment, i still have the xe1, sometimes I think about an x-t3 but not sure I'd like the output as much.

Totally agree, the XT1,2/XE1,2,2s have unique output that hits you in the feels.

Glad you could see the difference too, thanks for watching and the comment.

The difference is mainly in the saturation, just tune it down a bit. It won't decide over a good or bad photo.

Thanks for the comments, certainly you can probably match the look in post but in this video I was concentrating on SOOC.

how do you feel about Olympus vs Fujifilm? Which one is a better system? After all the sensor size doesn't have big differences.
@ChrisEdgecombePhoto7 ай бұрын
APS-C definately has an advantage over m43 with respect to light gathering and noise performance but these days I'm just not a fan of the X-trans sensor; don't get me wrong, it does provide some beatuiful looking and sharp images and I haven't yet sold my Fuji X-E1 or 35mm f1.4 combo but I just don't like the way it handles greens and foiliage in landscapes (mushy); yes you can get rid of this but its more steps in your workflow. I'm also not convinced these days that Fuji's AF is as good as other camera systems hence why I went back to m43 and am now experimenting will Full Frame. Thanks for the question and I hope this answers your question.

I prefer the X-Trans 3 pictures which have greater clarity while I view the X-Trans 1 pictures as having a slight veil on them. The clarity is preferred for landscapes but I can see the value of the X-Trans 1 for portraits where clarity is not always desired.
@ChrisEdgecombePhoto Жыл бұрын
I agree to a point, the Fuji X-H1 does look more clinical and digital which may suit like you say landscapes; for me I was hoping for something more similar to the output from the X-E1 which can produce some magical looking images with something about them; you can't put your finger on it or measure it but you can see that its there sometimes....

Wow... Just as I was debating between X-H1 and the X-T1, I think this video moves me off the X-H1 lol. I want something special in the sensor.. Some soul.. And I think whatever sensor is in the X-E1 or maybe even the X-T1, has it. Thanks for this video !

Glad I could help although the xt1 has the xtrans2 rather than the xtrans1 sensor so I don't know how the xe1 and the xt1 compare.
@frankartale102611 ай бұрын
The X-E1 xtrans sensor tends to be greener than the rest of the xtrans sensors. The X-E1 has more in common, colorwise with my X100 original which tends to be greener as well with the (12mp) bayer. Something very special to me about my 2 faves. The X-E1 & the Original X100. Fujifilm was creating magic with these 2 camera's

Whilst I liked the x100, I feel that the XE1 does a better job and the fact that it can accept more lenses is great. Thanks for watching.

DXO Photolab smokes lightroom when it comes to raw handling. Especially with x-trans raws. Can't believe why not more people use it....
@ChrisEdgecombePhoto8 ай бұрын
I think it depends on the camera, I've recently been impressed with Lightrooms enhance functionality with the X-E1 raws and think it did a better job than Iridient. I don't have a PL new enough unfortunately that is compatible with Fuji raws and I'm still very much embedded in the Lightroom way. Thanks for your insights.
