You think a president can move against the established politics? What happened to Kennedy when he tried to put even a slightest of brakes on the Imperial machinery? What happened to Nixon when he tried to move against CIA? First they control you through their dogs in Congress and Senate if they cannot get to you and if that does not work, they outright kill you because they know the general populace of the core is intoxicated on 'bread and circus' so they do not care. They killed Malcolm X and nothing happened. They killed MLK and nothing happened. Killed Kennedy and nothing happened. There is always a Superbowl, Taylor Swift concert or a general celebrity mobilization at hand to quell the masses. USA is stuck, and will be stuck for the foreseeable future. The one advantage FDR had that Biden didn’t have is FDR had a majority in the supreme court (he stacked the courts), he (for most of the time) had a majority in Congress, and most importantly the Great Depression meant that the population was demanding sweeping changes and had an appetite for it. Now, while Covid was a disaster, it wasn’t a prolonged disaster which means people didn’t have time to soak in hopelessness which is required for sweeping change. And FDR already implemented a lot of sweeping changes so there’s arguably less sweeping changes to implement. Either way, Biden decided to NOT take the hard choices, stack courts, target political enemies, and play the middle so while his policies were generally pretty good, his implementation of them lacked will… and his legacy isn’t as good as it could have been.

The problem with the DNC's outreach has been that they want to teach out from the unified position that the DNC decides they hold. Honestly it doesnt surprise me that kids have to have programs that instruct them to go to the basketball courts. In the area im at in Washington the city recently built a skate park and its incredibly popular but old crotchety boomers still call the cops on kids for being there. The last person the cops got called on had just gone to the grassy area of the park and sat in the sunshine. Some old lady called the cops because he was "suspicious". He told the cops he was just outside enjoying the sun. Third spaces for children are so policed by adults that it doesnt surprise me that kids and teens would rather stay home. At least then they dont have to worry about getting in trouble for the crime of existing in an outside space.

I realized the other day: Regarding Trump's "Shock and Awe" Executive Orders for his first 100 days.. I've noticed that whenever the GOP gets together and designs plans which promote their shared ideological agenda, there is enough support generated for them to have a shot of making their policies become law. I'm referring specifically to functions similar to how the Heritage Foundation operates, or how Paul Ryan presented a terrible economic plan and was later promoted to be House Speaker. I believe the left-wing should do something similar. Meaning, we need to organize a think tank that designs plans for benefitting the working class outright. We need a new, specific leftist manifesto that upcoming pro-labor politicians can collectively get behind! Then, we will WIN, WIN, WIN!!

Now I don't believe in that position anymore. I believe that it might be easier now to engage in establishing a replacement to the party, when the democrats are so readily committing to throwing votes away and allowing 4 years of hell to take place. Why not right? I'm not saying that would be easy or realistic, but it has to be more realistic than expecting the democrat party to fundamentally change now.

The Clintons helped tons of small upstart candidates. They raised a lot. That matters. The problem with all the anti democratic voices out there is that everyone points at the machine and says it's broken and talks about how it's broken, but no one is getting out tools to fix it. Then people will finally agree with and participate in the change. But until that happens it will be business as usual. I like Bernie but can we finally talk about how many youth voters didn't turn out for the guy when he ran against Biden? No lefty talks about it.
@BRAINSPLATTER1610 күн бұрын
It was at the same levels as 2016. Youth tend not to be as politically involved and the wider idea was "get trump out" and "vote blue no matter who". Kinda explains it all from where I'm standing.
@kap161810 күн бұрын
@@BRAINSPLATTER16 It doesn't explain anything. Bernie was a great candidate and yet the youth vote that many lefties championed couldn't be bothered to vote. At that point they need to stop whining about DNC rigging, warren/hillary, ect.
@kap161810 күн бұрын
@@BRAINSPLATTER16 Then what's their excuse for not coming out for Bernie. It seems like people talked big but didn't bother to back it up when it mattered.
@BRAINSPLATTER1610 күн бұрын
@@kap1618 no excuse. They fucked up. Just an explanation.

I'd love to see Hasan do more Califorina news. I always thought the young turks drop the ball. Not doing more inside baseball CAli news. In the sam way Sam seder does a lot of inside baseball NEw York news. Just like rappers streamers who do news should be repping they cities.
