I have two identical AC/DC tig welders that have accurate current output for DC but inaccurate reading for AC (verified using current clamp). In AC, the inaccuracy is at low current setting (set 10; 40 A actual) levels and less inaccurate at high setting levels. Is it possible to adjust using trim potentiometers inside the machine for AC current only without affecting DC current accuracy?

At 10:44 min of your video you mention the rebooting of the SMPS, i just acquired online a well built, second hand PSU from Germany 24v up to 6.28Amp. But at 5Amps it starts rebooting, where should i look at ? the sensing circuit ? thank you & Salam Aleikum.

Thanks for the great content! Is it possible for you to share the schematics of the welding machine? On the video series about welding machines the electric diagrams are a little bit different of what I have here on the welding machine I'm trying to repair and the one on this video seems to be exactly the same, but I was not able to find it on the internet. I'd be much thankful if you would share it. Thanks again for the great videos.

Sir, to use Uc3844 as a Led driver, should I connect VOLTAGE FEEDBACK pin to a fixed voltage or just left it open? Because I want to control current only..

voltage should me monitored either through the optocoupler or you may add divided voltage from aux voltage, so ic should maintain duty cycle using current sense with combination of voltage value in case voltage are uncontrolled , and there is some light load, in that case the ic can overshoot and make damage to the next circuit it is my suggestion

no it will damage the power supply actually any power supply must be operated at maximun less than 90% in your case it must be less than 9 ampere otherwise it will damage soon

I’ve been watching a bunch of your videos and have a question about a machine I have been having problems with AC/DC inverter machine that has a power switching relay 5 pin that’s bad and I cannot locate one anywhere for it part number GP-24VDC-C54 do you know of a compatible replacement relay that is available currently

I have a small Chinese welder. the actual working amperage does not match the digital meter. I found the 2 trim pots on the control board that control the max amperage and and the meter. My first question is how do I find by looking at the design of the board the maximum amperage the machine is designed for so I can set the maximum amperage. Secondly the digital meter is reading a non linear signal so scaling the voltage down to match the actual range of amperage is impossible....how do I overcome this. The board on the welder is a ZX7. Good Morning. 2 Trim pots on control bard are maximum current limit, and welding current set welding current limit pot normally 20K Ohm. this trim-pot works with current setting potentiometer. welding current limit pot is used to calibrate the output current with selected range on panel by means of current setting first of all verify regulated 5 volt (mostly it is achieved from 7805 regulator) and ensure these voltage on display as well. there should no display when current setting potentiometer is set to 0 ampere. if it displays some reading set "display zeroing trim-pot" (normally it is 5K Ohm, most of the time on the display module) take a calibrated good multimeter to measure milli-volts across the shunt resistance, see the shunt reading (for example 200mV at 200A, OR there will a resistance value i.e 100 m Ohm). calculate the expected voltage drop on shunt resistance, and connect multimeter across the shunt with excellent test probes with minimum resistance (and note down the multimeter error) set current setting knob any required value. for example 100Amp. start welding measure the voltage drop across the shunt resistance to determine the current flow. check the reading on display, adjust by display calibration trim-pot adjust the Short circuit current limit to protect Over Current Light in this way you can scale / calibrate the current setting knob value, display value, and output current Maximum current or also called "Short Circuit Current Limit" this trim-pot is used to provide reference to control logic to set duty cycle

Fantastic explanation as always,one more question arises in my mind that either voltage is dropped or current decreases at output due to load changes,in both cases switching IC will adjust it's duty cycle to maintain load current and voltage.Am I right?,if not please explain in detail.
