{1187A} LED driver function explained, failure root cause analysis

In this video number {1187A} LED driver function explained, failure root cause analysis. I explained working principle of BP2864 LED driver IC for 20 LED lights. i also shared FA (failure analysis), RCA (root cause analysis or RCFA (root cause failure analysis), i diagnosed the the exact root cause of the faiure of the led driver circuit.
BP2864XJ is an external OVP buck LED constant current driver chip. The chip works in the critical continuous mode of inductor current and is suitable for non-isolated buck LED constant current power supply with full range input voltage of 85Vac~265Vac. The IC ROVP pin has Enable function, which is suitable for switch color adjustment and induction lampapplications. The BP2864XJ
chip integrates a 500V power switch, uses gate demagnetization detection technology and high-voltage JFET power supply technology, and does not require VCC capacitors and startup resistors, making its peripheral devicessimpler and saving peripheral costs and volume. The BP2864XJ
chip has a built-in high-precision current sampling circuit and constant current control technology toachieve high-precision LED constant current output and excellent line voltage regulation. The chip works in the inductorcurrent critical mode, and the output current does not change with the change of inductance and LED operating voltage,achieving excellent load regulation. BP2864XJ has multiple protection functions, including LED short circuit protection, chip power supply undervoltageprotection, external OVP, chip temperature overheating regulation , etc.

How to calculate inductor value and current sense resistor value? How to design this inductor? Is the method is same as flyback transformer, as described in your pervious video .

always use power return path as reference point. black lead to power return of that specific section of the circuit if you are testing an IC, use IC common pin (GND pin) as refernce point for inputs and outputs

what is the function of inductor in this circuit and why discharge path is not provided to the inductor

I would love to simulate the circuit in LT-Spice. But that chip is difficult to simulate. Datasheet says ("No VCC capacitor, no starting resistor ") The fuse is useless, it does not protect the circuit from burning. Capacitors are the most dangerous component and is the No 1 guilty component all the time. I think that kind of LED lights are no good to buy while the quality of the capacitor is like that.
