I’m going to be 80 in 7 months and began carnivore about 18 months ago. Have lost 75 pounds and all my labs are normal. I started life out in a typical meat based diet and junk food wasn’t available anywhere..... for many many years I ignored my strong desire to return to the way I was eating before I turned 50..... but it’s hard when society is promoting vegetarian life as the preferred life. I began to do what I knew was best for me and always felt better, but not actually being vegetarian was against all my doctors. Then keto began to get mentioned more and more, which supported me so I gave up on doctors and listened to myself again. Have regained my health and learned to give the finger to the doctors who won’t let me be healthy FIRST. Hahahaha

I found that personally I just did not feel that good going full carnivore. I feel best if I am closer to veg heavy keto. I pity the fool who gets between me and fresh asparagus in the spring! I've been keto now for 7 years, basically not long before all the processed keto treats started becoming common on the market. I can certainly see how a keto friendly cookie can help someone avoid a full box of girl scout cookies, but I found the longer you go without, the less you want the stuff. I make myself a keto dessert maybe once or twice a year (winter holiday and summer birthday) but honestly the last few years I haven't even bothered with that. They just aren't something I crave any more. A square of unsweetened 100% dark chocolate with my tea while everyone else has cake or pie makes me every bit as happy Out tastes change throughout our lives regardless of any diets. But how we eat can help guide those changes. Today I'm not that fond of sweet. Instead I have grown to appreciate the flavors of bitter and sour. I'd like to go dairy free for a few months to see how it may affect how I feel. But I am struggling a bit with that one. I could give up cream easily. Have never been able to stand the taste of yogurt. Sour cream would make me sad but doable. Giving up cheese is a lot more difficult. :)

I was doing dirty keto and was feeling better and having success. I had lost 35 pounds. Then in October of last year we got Covid. My husband had it worse than me and our kids and basically slept for 2 weeks. So the stress of being cooped up in the house and being sick while taking care of sick people took it's toll. I gave up and just figured that I'd pick it back up after we were better. I lost my smell and taste but it started coming back after a few weeks. Then in January everything started smelling and tasting horrible. I can't eat beef. It smells and tastes rancid to me. Same thing for sausage. Chicken is slightly better but not much. It's slightly better than it was in January but not by much. I have gained back all of the weight I lost and then some. I want to go back to keto so badly but the only meat I can really eat that still tastes good is bacon (thank God bacon still tastes good). I can't eat eggs anymore because they make me feel horrible physically. I have tried several remedies for my smell and taste and a few things seemed like they were helping a little but it didn't last.

I can't eat any grains, legumes, seeds, nuts or nightshade anything. I follow some autoimmune protocol as a ketovore. Some days I will eat only meat, sometimes i have a little veg maybe a tablespoon or 2 of Kale or some kind of greens either raw or cooked in some way. I just listen to my body when it comes to that Neisha. If my body tells me I need a little bit of avacado or greens or even half a small yam once in a while then I do it. I just limit myself instead of pigging out on it. With my meat I just eat it with either redmond's real mineral salt or keto chow daily minerals. I feel good when I follow this way. I have 3 autoimmune disorders, inflammatory arthritis, and musculoskeletal disorders. I have only been doing this since late feb. and I recieved benefits pretty darn quick. All that inflammatory weight and water retention in my tissue started flying off so fast in the first few weeks. I'm tiny like you. Was always a waif till the autoimmune stuff turned ugly on me more than 10 years ago. I am so pleased eating this way. I pretty much ate like that all my life till my doctors and family started pressuring me into eating so called healthy grains and a Mediterranean diet which include a ton of nightshades. I only saw myself getting worse. Since doing ketovore with autoimmune protocol I feel like I am coming back to life. More than half the time I couldn't even get out of my bed most days because of severe diffuse pain throughout my body and chronic fatigue and lethargy. I stayed sick all the time too. I am so happy that I found you and Dr. Berry. My life is changing for the better and I thought for sure it was over. Didn't even have the will or strength to go on like that. I do come from a medical background and I couldn't even think or focus enough to do research on my own when doctors were not giving me the answers or treatment I needed. I saw ya'll and started listening to you and Ken and began trying and in a few weeks my mental fog lifted and my energy started coming back enough that I could do more thinking and research. I will never eat any other kind of way for the rest of my life. I can't wait to see how much better i may get through this diet. I can't thank you and your husband enough for what ya'll do. ❤ P.S. I am no longer on ANY medications and NO MORE Humira injections! 🙌

I have no idea if I'm in ketosis or not. But 20 lbs fell off of me and I've reversed 2 autoimmune diseases (chronic hives & interstitial cystitis). The veggies are so minimal I just don't think it qualifies as anything other than carnivore. Maybe you could call it meat based paleo? We'll even eat a little macadamia nut, almond butter, or walnuts with our berries from time to time. Still 90% of my calories are from meat, fish or eggs. It still feels like "carnivore" to me :)

How true it is that what might be working for us today might not always. Yes the treats help in the transition but after over a year now I’ve also come to realize that I had to put the brakes on many keto treats just because of the huge amount of nuts that are in them even my homemade goodies. I am glad my tastes are leaning more towards animal based just a bit of veg. It’s what my body wants. This is coming from someone who was vegetarian for over 20 years.

A few important thing to understand about losing weight from breast feeding. Many women lose weight because it burns an additional 300ish calories a day, but that means nothing if you still eat an additional 300 calories a day. Stress is also a factor in holding onto weight, I personally was more stressed nursing my first child the first 6months, but as I was more relaxed I found BF way easier than a bottle and I feel this stabilized my hormones, but not until I felt supported and got used to it. You will also be thirstier; some women add calorie and carb rich drinks instead of water or tea.

The easiest way for me to avoid keto desserts is being extremely allergic (anaphylactic) to all tree nuts and peanuts. I can’t be anywhere near peanut butter, almond flour, etc. It’s made it pretty easy to stay on strict carnivore and I highly recommend it as a method of avoiding the processed keto foods😂 For real though, I have been strict ketovore (raw organic spinach really seems to help my digestive system) for over 2 years now. I feel great. I do great with dairy but have cut out all alcohol for the past year.

I love your encouragement for doing you! I am now in maintenance and also have done it dirty to clean and have added back a few carbs. I still stay within plan for the most part. I did it to keep my A1c from getting out of normal range. It worked but I discovered that I am definitely insulin resistant. I still test every morning and do see a pattern with higher blood sugar on the morning after a high carb dinner. I am not diabetic but I may have morning b/s of 102 on those mornings. Never higher any other time of the day. Frustrating for sure but the overall feeling better with body aches and pains keeps me going. Keep on with the great material!

I had three babies in a healthy ish diet. We ate whole foods but didn't know that things like bread or pasta was bad for you. I would always hold onto 10lbs til i was a year pp. I was carnivore with my third baby and lost sll the weight right away. Easy!

Thank you. Loved this video. ✌🏻❤️🌞. I’m one that ones that can fall off the wagon .... then try to jump back on😳. I’m sure there are many of us that the struggle is maybe a little harder on. I’d love to hear more about how you keep your mind set... keep motivated... any tips from you or Dr. Berry. Food is what I have turned to all my life growing up..... been doing my best to turn that around. Hard to admit food addictions .... but as you know our southern family food gatherings.... lol... for ANY occasion! Help. I Need need to stay on the Wagon. 🙃👍 Stress... pandemic.... deaths....depression. .... makes things tougher for some. This 50lbs have got to go. Down 10... so I’m trying to keep a positive mind set. Thank you... .. Much love...South Carolina😎

A great vlog and very helpful, especially knowing you don't eat a lot of organ meat (which I, too, cannot do) I've been off the 'Keto train' for some time due to moving house and stresses related to that. Its a poor excuse of course and I'm trying hard to get back to a better way of eating and, for me, Keto is that - so I don't think I would go full carnivore or even Keto-carnivore, but who knows. You guys are making such a lovely new life on your farm and you are both well suited to that lifestyle. Beckett will grow happy and healthy there :)

Loved this video Neisha , I still struggle with pain due to my Hashimotos I think I need to cut out dairy completely I’m not perfect with ketovore , still suffer with bloating, have IBS still stayed so tired fatigued found out I have a slipped disc @ L4-L5 dr wants me to consider surgery I just don’t want to right now too many surgery’s already I’ve had for other problems. I’ve started looking into prayer and fasting have u tried that type of fasting ? Your thoughts 💭...? I only eat Omad and still not losing like I think I should even though people say to me you have lost a lot of weight I don’t see it ...the joint pain, fatigue and low back pain gosh it really gets to me wish it would go away any thoughts or suggestions .. Also my thyroid dr says is normal ranges,, why does THS say high sensitivity? What does that mean ? Thanks for reading and any ideas u have are greatly appreciated love u mean it!

Neisha I can’t thank you enough for this video! I too have struggled with hashimotos on and off going on 8 yrs now I think 🤔...anyway I got great results from Keto as well as ketovore most recently, however my gut (I believe is the issue) has been throwing my thyroid off and I am curious how you feel about food sensitivities (Everlywell) testing as well as microbiome testing (from Thryve) as I had both done trying to sort what’s going on and now I’m just overwhelmed with a totally new diet of basically vegan eating and struggling to say the least. U mentioned in this video you had a protein issue when pregnant and had to give up eggs and meat? How, why.... ? I’m also just terribly worried if I give it up I’ll never be able to have it again. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Found you through your husbands channel. What's attracting me to carnivore is the testimonials about getting stronger and also I'm getting wrinkles and I feel I'm young for that at 42. Some concerns: stories of women having great success and then having thyroid and adrenal problems about 6 months in then discovering they need some whole food carbs around ovulation and the week before period for progesterone production. Also when I tried keto in the past it made digestion problems worse but I'm thinking I was too aggressive and should've scaled up the fats more slowly.. Would love to improve hoshis, autoimmune colitis, PCOS, and arthritis. Would love to start lifting again. I stopped because my shoulders got arthritis.

I started keto in January and switched to carnivore in February. My weight loss continued and I was feeling terrific until last week when I got Covid. Now the thought of any meat makes me nauseous. I certainly hope this is just a phase.

14:27 Half diet Dr. Pepper and half sparkling water? That is pure genius! I will try that. Maybe do 75% diet soda and 25% sparkling water, etc., until I'm only drinking sparkling water. I swear, I learn so much watching these vids of yours. Thank you for sharing your story. I imagine it gets old repeating yourself on what you eat, but trust me when I say it helps.

I was a big diet soda drinker for years and now have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis so do your very best to cut it all out eventually~ Yes, it is partially hereditary as runs in family, plus on low-dose Steroids for long-term Lupus, etc🤷♀️...Yet, those acids on soda can also be quite damaging to our super USEful bones!! Found that out the hard way after falling over a baby gate and suffering a pelvic fracture last year. 😱~Know that Diet Doc Pepper is SO good yet now regret drinking it:( Anyway, many BLESSings on your health journey💖:)

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and meat still makes me sick to my stomach. I've been really slipping up on keeping on plan. I have Hashimoto's too and only thing that helps me stay keto is chaffles lol which means I have to eat a lot of cheese and eggs. I'll eat a lot of roasted Brussel's sprouts and broccoli too with olive oil or melted butter on them. I think once I'm not pregnant I can probably eat more meat. I should look into the organ meat supplements. We are getting some goats for the milk and cheese. I have a couple children that can't have dairy and our local store's prices for hard goat cheese is pricey, we're not a huge fan of the softer goat cheeses!!

Your best video yet. Very real, compelling and encouraging. Thanks for sharing your journey. I have learned so much from you and Dr Berry. Making such good changes in my life for my health. I have a plan that is working for me with carnivore during the week with fasting and more keto with occasional keto treat or wine on the weekends.
