One of the best tutorials. Thanks. But there is a mistake: p should be larger than N, not smaller, otherwise taking a mod with N after taking mod with a smaller p won't make any difference.

I think N is supposed to be smaller than p, otherwise it makes no sense to use mod N at all as it doesn't change the result. If p
