Nah, not gonna work. For one, since it gives no tank stats, it'll be just a competition of who can all-in first, and the melee champ will be down 70 hp or whatever Doran items give rn. Plus, it will be blatantly better on assassins who rely on early all-ins, and champs whose strategy is to run the opponent down, like Darius. So tanks are gonna be even more shit early, and bruisers won't buy the item anyway, since it doesn't help them live through the lane. The champs who I can see using it most are Tryndamere, Darius and maybe Fiora/Jayce. So champions who already are cancer to fight against as melee. I honestly think that at this point Riot should either create a modifier on toplane itself, or on an item they can easily use that halves damage taken from any attack from more than x range that applies on-hit effects. That would basically make toplane immune to ranged cheese, making it so the ranged champion has to get in close to do full damage. And since it only applies on things that are on-hit, it will not impact things like Aatrox Q. Make the cut off point around 350 range, same as Urgot. And have it apply only between the two top towers and up until 10 or so minutes. It would need to be adjusted of course, but that's the general idea.

@@gonza4019 Lane is shorter yeah but you get ganked more since you're mid. Supports roam mid, jungles gank the same amount as top and top laners gank mid. Having the shorter lane isnt as safe as you think and good waveclear fixes that problem anyway. Then again, I main mid. So I look for solutions to these problems instead of complaining about my role being bad.

Yoi yes and no. Mid gets ganked way more ofter because of its position that’s true, but a shorter lane leaves a tighter window to the jungler so it’s harder to pull of a decent gank. And if you freeze and lose priority it’s easy to get back in action since midlaner have a way better waveclear and most of the time using 2 spells you clear a wave. Top is not like this (most of the times) : beside being both solo lane they are very different. One of the people i play with is a mid main and we ofter discuss the game and that kind of stuff : when he is top being autofilled or trying a champ he always say “why it did’t work? I do the same in mid and works nearby always”: that’s to say that yes , you’re right , toplaners should find a way of winning instead of complaining and i agree 100% on this. But don’t you think that if after all this time the situation is still like this probably there is a much deeper problem and it’s not the player’s fault?
