@@mambankkk He can probably make his cells stop auto-healing. It was also after a loong day of battle Madara so he was also most likely out of chakra. Also, Hashirama's cells (cultivated by Madara, Obito, Orochimaru, Kabuto) isn't the same as his own living cells. The cultivated ones are designed for self-sustenance while I think the real Hashirama was just naturally gifted and could easily heal without casting hand-signs just like his jutsu. That's what Madara said too to Tsunade.
