Kanao would in fact be stronger than Shinobu. Kanao was taught by Kanae and Kanae is older than Shinobu making her stronger than Shinobu. Both Kanae and Kanao use flower breathing. And since Kanae uses flower breathing and is stronger than her sister that makes flower breathing stronger than insect breathing and Kanao uses flower breathing which makes her technically stronger Shinobu Also, Shinobu scares me too

Kanao will really be stronger than Shinobu because: 1) She has the arm strength that Shinobu lacked 2) She was trained in flower breathing for a while by Kanae (less than 2 years because Kanae died 2 years after she became a hashira) 3) Shinobu also trained her in Flower Breathing from the day Kanae died up until the end.

See the manga, it's shown that only Giyuu Uzui Gyomei and Sanemi were the hashiras and in the spinoff it's shown that sanemi is an hashira before rengoku. He even challenges rengoku to a fight before he became an hashira.
