Hey AJ and Dani! Food looks as usual. I am so glad that I moved from California because the rent in the city I lived in went ridiculously crazy. The sad thing is the cost of living doesn't meet up with what they're asking for in rent. I'm disabled and I had to stop working and I had to give up on the idea of owning a house. In the state I live now, the rents were extremely affordable until a couple of years ago. Its too bad that people would rather see folks live on the streets vs letting them rent at an affordable cost.

Being a home owner has challenges ie. maintenance etc but the joy of coming in and it’s yours is worth it. Just have insurance and property taxes in your escrow 👍🏽. And if possible stay away from HOA communities 🤨

If you don’t pay your mortgage and taxes you’ll be out in box too. Not to mention the maintenance that you are responsible for being a home owner. It just depends on your circumstances. And if your children aren’t financially responsible they’re going to loose your investment when you’re gone. Them nachos looked so good too.😍

The reason is, affordable housing tenants may only pay a certain amount, but the owners of the apartments are getting tax credits for each tenant from the government, which they don't have to pay back. So it's all about the tax breaks.

Hey how are you guys doing? My friend signed a lease and then after she paid everything,they told her she didn't qualify and the rent went up. They said she had to make five times the rent. That would have been almost 8000.00 a month. Now she can't get the money she paid for the apartment back,and they told her to turn on the lights and gas in her name. When she came to get the keys so she could move in that is when they told her all of this. It is a shame. I hope you have a blessed day.

It’s probably subsidized housing. They are probably getting funds from the government. For example, if they actually want $1600 a month and the government covers $300 and the person leasing pays the remaining amount. If you make over an amount you wouldn’t qualify for the subsidized program. Just a guess.. Interested in knowing why.

And here depending on the area you could easily pay from $800 to well over $2200 for a 1 bedroom and even more in the downtown areas. It's weird to me how bloggers are renting apts and are sharing blogs with plenty of name brand material possessions that are very expensive but they do not own where they live!
