Hassan was really good at first, being able to mix Taekwondo with Muay Thai and used it effectively. But in the end, he got caught because of the same fighting techniques, so the opponent found a way to fix the game easily and eventually lost.

As entertaining and impressive as his kicks were his hands seemed to be his most effective weapon. He might have been more successful had he used his punches to set up his kicks. Even in this highlight most of his kicks were blocked or didn't land because he threw them with no set up. As fast as they are, without the set up his opponents were still able to avoid or block them. He clearly had power in his hands: once he showed his opponents that power he could have started feinting and nailing them with his highly skilled kicks. Easily a fan favourite either way.

I’m a boxer, Muay Thai fighter Taekwondo fighter. And I can tell you, good hands are important but they aren’t everything. Proficient and Prolific kickers are a nightmare to deal with it once they learn fundamental boxing and Muay Thai

The other thing.making taekwondo more difficult to use is back in the day they weren't fighting in a cage,. If u were in war fighting other adversaries you and the whole outside space to get what you need done Im not a tkd guy but I cant stand the hate every martial art that's not bjj muay thai , wrestling or western boxing get

Taekwondo can translate very well to MT if the fighter has good MT striking and ring craft. I traded with a few MT masters who also had taekwondo blackbelts.Typically TKD exponents are handicapped if they don't learn MT kingcraft first, because they use the traditional open floor format and fighting in the ring, requires a transformation to adjust. Different story in the street, all best are off when absolutely no rules exist, BJJ or MMA or any style of karate/MT/TKD, it depends on the fighter, but MMA have the edge, because they are the best allrounders.

I see so many videos saying "Tae Kwon Do is training wheels martial arts" and "not viable in the ring." I think back on my training and I can agree, but then I see stuff like this. What the fuck was I learning? Burn my black belt, gimme some of what he's on!
