Thank you for this video. I bought this hat hoop in 2022 and decided to try it today, June 23, 2024, for the first time. I thought it was no good because I didn't realized you attach it UPSIDE down on the outer hoop! I have a Brother SE1900. Thanks to YOU I can now use this hoop. If the largest hoop size is the same, and its a brother brand, then yes they're pretty much the same with embroidery.

My hubby made me one using a clip board for my Brother SE 1800 Inovis 5 X 7. He watched a couple of videos. It worked beautifully and I don't have to flip it upside down to use it. It fits nice and snug - used duct tap around the edges. It may not be as lovely to look at, but I can get right down to the bottom of the hat to embroider. I don't use sticky stabilizer either. It is really easy to adjust and center the hat because of the clip. Thanks for the review. I have considered buying a commercially made one, but have held off because of the comments and reviews.

Welcome to our channel! Your first embroidery machine depends upon what you have to invest and what you want to do with it. If you are starting a business and have the available capital, then you may want to look at getting an industrial machine like the Redline 15 needle machine, instead of getting a smaller home machine. However, if you are limited with the budget and just want a machine to see if you can start a business with it, then you can aim more for the smaller home machine. PE800 (5x7 maximum hoop size) is an excellent starting point. If that is still out of your price range, then the 4x4 options are good and can still earn a profit.

I "had" that hoop. A few months ago, I found like you did, the screws were in the way. I eventually broke mine trying to get it to work. Very upset I wasted money on it. As always, love your reviews and information you share.

Hi! I love your videos! I just got my hat hoop for my 4x4 hoop. I am embroidering a hat I got at Walmart, an ordinary cap, that cost $3.75. Well I almost got my beautiful hat done but, I broke 2 needles doing it. My machine which is a Brother HE 1 was making loud straining noises during embroidery and the machine seemed really stressed for the material of hat. I was wondering if there is a more heavy duty machine I could get, something more industrial to do baseball hats on?

The specific one that I show in this video is made for the 4x4 hoop. If you search for "Durkee hat hoop" they make one for the 5x7 hoop.

Looking at this hoop on Amazon and it says to clamp the hat hoop on the side opposite the attachment to the machine and rotate the design 90 degrees. I don't even have my machine out at the moment to see if it would make a difference. But it seems that it would do two things. First, your alignment would be right as long as you centered it and second it would avoid the issue with the foot hitting the hoop. Can you verify this? I need to do some hats and would resort to my hat press and HTV but would love to be able to embroider them.

I purchased one hat hoop and it cost more than the one you have and when it came I could not use it because you had to purchase additional parts. I returned it and sent for the one you have and it works but I agree that you can't get too close to that brim when embroidering because it throws everything off. Enjoy all of your tutorials.

I have that gizmo, and to center it I have to barely put the bill in the clamp... Or the logo is on the top of the hat. .... Hmm, but it works
