The VRS fabia is an excellent model, but the standard seats are too delicate and cheap looking IMHO apart from the leather version. Perfect nippy, tuneable, economical and practical value for money hatchback around. Why did you sell it? :-)

@@HatBoyHarvey Yeah I had the full leather (SE) so the seats were nice. I just didn't need a diesel anymore, plus wanted something more modern. I got a good price for the car and now have a VW Scirocco....which I love.

Nice work, the same procedure can apply on the ABS pump fault, în this case the fuse is 40Amp. It was happening to me when I drove the car in deep water! Leave the connectors to dry after cleaning, change the fuse, job sorted!

My Fabia (1.4 16V) throws this error when the battery level goes down (from making many short trips or letting the car sit unused for a long time). First you need to make sure to charge up your battery and if the error still does not go away then disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple of hours and then connect it back up. This usually solves my issue at least.

Very annoying having to do that. Perhaps you need the battery checking - even if the voltage is high the condition may be poor - A battery checker will be able to test the condition.

My (1.9tdi) Fabia does this dash error light typically first start on a cold day, (fuse ok). I stop and restart engine and it goes. A new bat helped. It’s very sensitive to the charge level.

Yes they seam to do that when they get older. Connections and dry solder joints often shoe these symptoms as cold shrinks and opens joints/connections :-)

Let’s hope this helps! Been getting that error from time to time last few months, but it seemed to go away after some minutes or after restarting the car. Now it just consistently lights up and doesn’t go away 🤔 could this also be a battery issue? I remember having this exact problem when I just bought the car. Replaced the battery with a new one and no problems for several years Skoda Fabia mk1 1.4 mpi 8v

Hmm, sound like a connection issue, but the battery needs to have a good charge to power the power steering. If you get use of a battery tester then you will know if it is ok or not. Usually starts when you have poor starting. I would check the connections and fluid level. If the power steering works with the light on then it could be the instrument binacle connections or dry solder joints.

hello, can you explain where the steering sensor is located and possibly how to replace it, I have a Skoda Fabia 1.9 sdi, I did everything shown in the video but the problem with the sensor lighting is still there, the interesting thing is that sometimes the hydraulics it works, sometimes it doesn't and they tell me that the problem is not in the pump but in the sensor, thanks in advance.

Great video, as usual Harvey! Today, servo indicator turned on, and wheel was ok while driving, but when I stopped to park on a downhill, while manoeuvering, servo was very stiff, for a 1-2 sec. and then okay, then stiff again, and so on... Could it be the level of fluid , never changed since new, 2002! Best regards!

Make sure power steering fluid is ok. Check for poor earth/ground connections and possible failing battery. Could also be the instrument binnacle connections or dry solder joints on PCB. Check fault codes with obd2 reader.

No, but I wouldn't bother with some kind of quick fix such as an additive leak stopper. So unless your just wrapping around the pipe to get you home then just replace the whole pipe making sure you bleed the air out :-)

A 'HOT' Fabia :-), never heard of it, but then many would say the VRS is the hot version. Sorry I only answer business emails - it does say that on the page. Glad my videos are helping you keep that fabia going :-)

Any accompanying symptoms? If not clear the code and see if it comes back as it could be due to moisture. If loss of power then it could be a coil pack, but you need to be sure with a vacom diagnostic check first

Just unplug the cable that goes to the throttle body and plug in again. The light will disapear if it comes back its likely the flaps inside the throttle body. I had this problem on my polo 1.4 2006

Wasn't it wise to First do the replacement of the burnt out.. piece.. and see whether that would have fixed the issue if stiff.. power steering.. Anyways, thanks I watched it whole

Thanks. There wasn't anything wrong, it just decided to blow the fuse, so to rule out a connection issue It's worth checking and cleaning those.
