Thanks for everyone's support and patience for these instructional videos. This one includes underwater footage shot over a 3 year period (it's pretty hard to get a bass to smile for the camera lol), so needless to say it takes a lot of time and effort to do these. Thanks again!

As I try to learn from the locals during the spawn, I've also met guys totally against bed fishing and swear by moon phases. As a scientist, I am glad that you've debunked these myths. Hopefully, after this video, I will advance to the intermediate level. Thanks for the excellent video.

You will come across a lot of anglers who swear by moon phases. I've spoken to a fisheries biologist from the TPWD about this and she confirmed they've never seen any correlation. All of my research on the topic from scientific studies also said there wasn't enough evidence to claim that moon phase affects spawning either way.

How does constant water temperature effect the spawn? I ask because I live in Florida, and many of our rivers are spring fed and maintain the same temp year round.
@HatCamBass5 жыл бұрын
The Florida guys I've spoken to say that the spawn usually kicks in around February but they've seen spawners as early as November. Spawning has just as much to do with the length of days as anything which is why you still see similar spawning trends even in warmer climates. Maybe some Florida anglers can chime in here with their experiences...

I love you’re videos but I am curious about where I live.... in Canada. I feel as though some of the videos do not relate to me and my fishing as we have very cold winters and our weather is not always hot everyday like some places in America.... how can I get informed about my own home waters and fishing methods I’ve searched what feels like everywhere but can not find much information especially as detailed as you’re channel.

Do bass find their way back if you pull them from a bed or fry?

Oh yes, a male will go right back to the same bed to guard fry.
