This was such a great comparison! We bought the regular Hatch, but I didn't like some of it's features. I came here to see if the Hatch+ would be worth it. I like that the Hatch+ has a clock, buttons on the back (rather than the bottom), and portable option. Wishing anyone who reads this a good night's rest with their little one😊☁

So helpful! I’m so glad I didn’t stop at one video review (the one before I watched yours) bc it left me feeling just as unsure. Our house loses power randomly a couple times per year and I always spring out of bed to get the portable machine going. So Hatch Rest+ it is!!

Can you use the plus on blue tooth as well as wifi or does it have to be connected to wifi to work

Yes, you will need a Wi-Fi connection and the Hatch Sleep app.

@@Mr_Mackenzie so what is the point of buttons on the actual device if you can’t use them to control it without wifi? Or is wifi connection just for use with the app? Does the sound machine and clock itself still work if wifi goes out? Sorry hope these questions make sense!
@Mr_Mackenzie2 жыл бұрын
Everything works without WiFi. Think of it like you’re tv. Your tv still has physical buttons to change the channel, but you can’t use the remote if it doesn’t have batteries. No WiFi = no controlling the sound machine with the app, but the buttons and clock etc, still work.

I have a new hatch rest + but not seeing the listen in feature on the app. Is this capability only available on iOS?
@Mr_Mackenzie Жыл бұрын
It looks like they removed this feature from the HR+ Gen 2. We have both the gen 1 and Gen 2 and one has it, the other doesn’t. Likely it just wasn’t a widely used feature so it was axed.

@@Mr_Mackenzie bummer I bought this specifically for that reason to take on trips to my parents house our of town. I'd expect this from Google.
@Mr_Mackenzie Жыл бұрын
@@MikeAnnarose TBH when using it as a sound machine and trying to use the monitor feature it was barely usable at best. In a pinch, it was better than nothing but the mic picked up too much of the white noise to be really useful.

Great video! Unfortunately, after having trouble trying to simply troubleshoot the wifi/bluetooth with the Rest+ several times on two different machines my husband & I given up on it..it's a return item for us as much as we wanted to like it.
@Mr_Mackenzie3 жыл бұрын
Do you have a lot of work enabled devices in your home? It’s possible that it’s either a software compatibility issue or that there’s just too much interference. We had some issues like that and traced it down to the Google home devices we had running. They were gumming up our entire network.
@meccamonroe61343 жыл бұрын
You have to connect to the exact same WiFi as you are on the app… even if your wife has 5G at the end and the hatch doesn’t , you won’t be able to connect

On the regular hatch is it battery or plug in? Or both?
@Mr_Mackenzie3 жыл бұрын
On the regular Hatch Rest you have to leave the sound machine plugged in. The Hatch Rest + has an internal battery so you can unplug it and move it around if you want. The HR+ battery has lasted 6 hours or more for us while being used around 40-50% volume with no light, so in my mind it's very much worth the extra cost.
@casd.54853 жыл бұрын
@@Mr_Mackenzie ok. I like back up batteries. Lol. Even when the electricity goes out the bath will run! Thanks for that. I just seen that the first batch needs an ion battery in the description on Amazon. So I was a bit confused. Thank!!

@Mr_Mackenzie3 жыл бұрын
Really depends on your house layout. Generally about 60-90 ft as long as there aren’t too many walls or interference between you and the device. We found that we’d have to go to the bottom of our staircase to reach the Hatch located in my sons room upstairs. With the WiFi version (Hatch Rest Plus) we can adjust or turn it on/off from anywhere in the house.
@taylorbugg1232 жыл бұрын
Does it work on a hot spot? We don’t have WiFi, but do lose power a few times a year due to weather. And I don’t want it to just cut off in the middle of an outage.
@Mr_Mackenzie2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the type of wireless signal your hotspot is producing. WiFi is only necessary to control the HR+ from the Hatch sleep app, not to make the device work.

My hatch plus rest touch ring doesn’t work properly. I’ve just bought 2 of them. One of them works as it should. The other one though with my phone it’s fine every feauture is working but when you touch the ring nothing happens. When you touch the brightness buttin the device resets itself. I couldn’t find anything about this issue. If some sound is already playing when you touch the ring it shuts the noice and that’s it. Touch ring doesn’t turn on or off the device. @@Mr_Mackenzie do you know how to delete the device maybe if I can delete it from my account i can reload it again and it works?
@@Mr_Mackenzie it says I should also reset my wifi connection. I’ve tried to add hatch again in my account to reload it again from the beginning I mean but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried to add it other smart phone it didn’t work. It is impossible to delete the device and start from the beginning again. You can’t delete your account you can’t delete your devices when you upload them once. So I will try to connect hatch plus to another wifi at my friend’s house. It must work as resetting the wifi option. I don’t wanna do it at home because I have a working one and I don’t wanna ruin it. I’m not sure honestly. We run two routers in our house so we have strong WiFi throughout. It’ll still work as a sound machine even without WiFi, you may just have trouble connecting to it to control it remotely.

Can you make a quick video that has the sound of white noise coming through the audio monitor?
@Mr_Mackenzie4 жыл бұрын
+Ashley J sorry that would be a bit tough. To be honest, while this can be used as an audio monitor I would only do so in emergency situations. There’s no alert system when your baby starts making noise, so you’d have to have the app open and listening the whole time.

Can the white noise work without WiFi?
@Mr_Mackenzie3 жыл бұрын
+Benny Shirley yes, at the end of the day it’s still a sound machine. But if you don’t have WiFi I’d recommend going with the cheaper of the two or another device all together. The primary benefits of the rest plus come from being able to control it wirelessly.

@@Mr_Mackenzie Thanks. I have wifi. But I was concerned about taking it say to my sons grandparents and not having to worry about fussing with their wifi just to make it work.
