@Zoe Mozzelle perfect 🥰 2/2 They were born on 2/12 and 2/13. Three weeks old today! Happy and healthy. The best advice I have to give is to wait for the hatch and not assist too early! I wasn't sure if the one that peeked first was alive and well (scared that something had gone wrong). Searched EVERYWHERE, and someone gave advice not to jump in early. Sure enough, the next morning (2) two days after the first peek, she (I hope it's a she) hatched as God intended all by herself. I could tell she needed the extra time to absorb the yolk, so I'm happy I didn't assist. Thanks for asking. 🥳🐣🐤

The first chick helps the others hatch. They talked to each other through their shells. I have also noticed over the years that the chicks running around and bumping into the other eggs hatching stimulates them and they get out of their shells earlier. I just loved watching your hatching video I've got eggs coming and I can't wait to get back into it. Oh and I've also learned from my own experiences over the years if you incubate your shipped eggs standing up for the first 7 days you tend to get more eggs hatching I also live in the south where we have high humidity so I have to dry hatch or I will drown my chicks in their eggs. I don't add any water to my incubator until I check them on day 14 if they're air sacs are bigger than they're supposed to be I add water and if there's still too big I let them go into lockdown. Again I loved your video and good luck on your future hatches I will be here to watch.

I have 5 eggs currently pipping right now. It's currently day 21, well, it will be technically at 5 pm tonight. I'm nervous, excited, and afraid of doing this, but I also have experience in raising chicks and have had a hen hatch out a batch last year. Yes, I know Mama did the work, but it's still considered experience. Anyway, I have knowledge of incubating and honestly... some of it is just common sense. Now the water I didn't know anything about. But the temp and not opening the incubator was pretty well common sense for me. The average body temp of most animals is between 98 and 100, so yeh. What I didn't know was that you stopped turning the eggs around days 16 and 18... I wonder how mom knows that one 🤔, but I digress. It does make sense, tho. None the less I'm very excited, and so are my children ❤

I have used incubators and had decent luck but the best in my opinion is a few good game fowl hens to incubate my eggs. They will cover 10 to 12 eggs easily and they are the best mother's ever. They will protect the clutch like no other.

The one thing the kebbonix has is the dark top. The 360 has a white top and it interferes with the light. Try cutting a hole in dark fabric. Drape it over the 360. You will see a much clearer picture! The incubator is great. Just wish it was not white plastic that let the light right through.

Hello this is a bit random but i need some advice. my chick hatched, it's cord is still attched to the egg. What concerns be is there's bit of blood around the abdomin. Has my chick herniated? Is the blood normal? My chick is reactive, doesn't seem lethargic but again the blood worries me. I read you can snip the cord, but other people say let if fall off on it's own, but does this apply to to my situation seeing that there is blood? I've never delt with this before. Any information would be great thanks so much for sharing your video

I'm a newbie and "our" wild Muscovy duck laid 4 eggs behind my fountain and then abandoned them. I had an incubator that I bought a few years ago and so I got it out and put them in there. I'm trying to learn all I can now about the process. Is "lock-down" when they are close to hatching and you no longer remove the incubator lid to check on them? How long do baby chicks/ducks stay in the incubator once they hatch?

@MississippiFamilyHomestead Жыл бұрын
Hi I have a Harris Farms Nature Right 360. Is it all chicks that cant eat or Walk? or just one? Do you removed them from the incubator to a bed of pine shavings? If it is just one chick then I would say it may be a birth defect this sometimes happens. You will need to just watch and see if the chick gets better ... you can try taping the legs loosely together. Sometimes the chick is born with splayed legs and taping the legs sometimes helps its little legs straighten out. Leave them taped for a week. You will need to help it eat and drink during this process.. As for not eating the chicks may not eat until the 3rd or 4 th day. Have you tried showing the chick where the food and water is?

Ok you mention “lock down”…. So you disconnected the egg motor… what if the eggs collected were from a course of a few days. Will this affect the “lock down” date? I put our 12 eggs in on Oct. 6… so we’re getting close. Any advice would be helpful 😊

Hi Thank you so much for watching our video. As long as the eggs all started the incubation period at the same time, the collection of eggs will not affect the incubation. My eggs were also collected over a period of a week, but this did not affect the lock down phase of incubation. Good luck!

Hi! the eggs always hatch on day 21 to 23. Mine all survived after being born. You should never intervene with the hatching process A lot of my eggs pipped and it took some up to 8 to 10 hours before they started the zipping process. Just remember pipping can last a long time and zipping should only last up to 1 hour and at the most 2 hours. It is very important no matter how bad you want to help, to let the chick do the work.

You mentioned you got rid of your Roosters, and you want to hatch your own chicks ??? without a rooster ? hmmmmm use a led flashlight, it help, with faster timing for the eggs to be out

Not all chicks are born with their eggs yolks hanging out. They should absorb while they’re in their shell. Personally I’ve never seen that and I hatch 2 times a year.

Hard to believe there is such a science in doing this and all a Hen does is just sit on them and not much else ! Why do we need to turn them and she doesn't (or does she) ?
@MississippiFamilyHomestead
@MississippiFamilyHomestead Жыл бұрын
Yes the Hen turns the eggs naturally in nature. This is true of all birds.

@@janetcalvert3959 wow I can imagine you sat there with your nose turned up. There's a difference between manners and honesty. I said nothing rude, bitter or untoward. I said what I seen, why do people get their backs up if someone has a different opinion? In life you got to deal with the fact we will have different thoughts and ideas, it comes with being a adult, and even though my comment wasn't bad I stand by it, get over it

@@river1927Miss Emma, my opinion was that you expressed yours in an unmannerd way, not that you held one I disagreed with. Reading comprehension must not be a strong suit you posses along with the painfully obvious lack of being able to express a criticism in a charitable, helpful, mature way. "Are you all watching the same as me." That bout sums it all up right there. And by the way sweetie, I do don't have anything to " get over."

This video was awesome. Would you recommend leaving the chickens in until day 23 regardless of if all are hatched or not. Also what are the needed materials for when you do remove them from the incubator? We’re currently on day 14 and will be candling again tonight to check the eggs. Any and all information would be appreciated.
