HATE /// LOVE - Remastered (ULTRAKILL Fan Tracks)

As previously mentioned, I have joined a team dedicated to making fan prime sanctums into playable levels. My music will be used for Jesus Prime, but I have grown as a musician in the time since I published my fan tracks, so I thought it'd be appropriate to remaster these songs into more refined versions. In case you don't know, I already remade Who Art In Hell, so HATE and LOVE were all that remained.
These remasters showcase overhauled mixing, new instruments, and various minor changes. Let me know what sounds better, as well as what sounds worse. Overall, I didn't change as much in HATE as I did in LOVE.
Again, I will be updating the Bandcamp so that the remasters are visible, while the originals are available as bonus tracks. All supporters should be able to download the updated version, so if you can't, please let me know as soon as possible.

my theory (more like headcanon) is that they had to make a prison that covered 4 or more dimensions instead of 3 because Jesus is so powerful he can move in all those dimensions. Like if you trap a human in a 2D ring, he can just more in the 3rd dimension to get out of it. Jesus could get out of a normal 3d prison. At least that's what I think.

I quite liked the chiptune-y nature of the original LOVE though this version clearly has a lot more depth and layers. Always love hearing piano sounds in music with high intensity. Though no matter the instruments I think LOVE is a brilliant composition. Fan of ending/phase2 as well!

I have to agree with you in the piano part. Piano and organ are my 2 favourite classical instruments to mix with more "modern" music (specially videogame music). They add a lot of flavour to the sound. That's why I liked Tenebre Rosso Sangue and Ultrachurch, for example. But yeah piano and organ goated.

Actually, feels like a good cut off point already. Ultrakill bosses don't really have phase 2, they just become faster and have more stamina, so they can use more of the same attacks in a succession. I could see JCP having a desperation phase tho, like Furi bosses, since he'd in theory be the ultimate last boss of the game. Which does fit into those 60 seconds pretty nifty.

The instruments used make these tracks feel more alive, and I can certainly say that the mixing is certainly improved! That being said, it faces an issue that I felt with the remastered version of Thou Art in Hell: while the tracks sounds better, it sounds less... emotional? The instruments balance out better, but with each part being more even, none of them stand out as much. A lot of the impact feels lost, which is a real shame considering just how good the emotions of each track were in the originals. It is an improvement overall, but I think each remaster lacks the same power of their original versions. Thou Art In Hell took an especially large hit, but I do think that HATE and *especially* LOVE are better in this regard. I wonder if overlaying the original chiptune (albeit changed slightly) underneath the remastered tracks would add some of that power back...

Although the usage of synth / chiptune in the original rendition of LOVE was interesting, i really do think the current instrumentation is miles better than what it was in the original. The personality of the track shines through much more, overall making this a better listen. Well done!!!

now this is ultrakill boss music, HATE is spot on, very reminisint of minos prime's prison, i imagine the pauses to be transitioning to the next phase, and LOVE, while still a bit too focused on the beat, is amazing, it's crazy how talented you and your team are, 9.5/10 keep making masterpieces

spectacular remake, however if this isnt the final version, may i suggest adding some sort of choir (and maybe harp) into the mix of LOVE? i feel it'd add a really fitting holy vibe into the mix, while maintaining the more heavy aspects to imply the deeper context behind the fight (and maybe even adding some more prominent electric guitar could really help emphasize the latter aspects). again, amazing job on this!

anway I genuinely cannot way for the full phase 2, the instruments are excellent and the visual touches are a nice cherry on top. The melody is very pleasant and I can (and have) listened to this for hours. I’m telling you, when I saw “Phase 1” pop up before the transition to phase 2 I was so god damn hyped. This music makes me want to ULTRAKILL or at least imagine cool fight scenes. Danke!!!
