I love the fact that ExC is now basically just a bunch of balding middle aged dads who get together to rock out once in a while, but just also happen to be the greatest vegan straight edge band of all time.

Never 💭 of it in those particular set of words but yes. They're older men who as band do nothing but put on great shows and release excellent records. No frills, gimmicks, egos and all the other extraneous Rock N Roll cliches. Earth Crisis is one of the bands that for me into Hardcore. As life long Heavy Metal addict. There's a lot of aspects of Hardcore I prefer over Metal. Number 1 they seem to put on better shows with a lot less hype, pandering, silly outfits, hairstyles etc. Long way of saying yes there's not another unabashedly vegan Hardcore band out there that can hold a candle to EARTH CRISIS!

1996 Portland Oregon. One of the best shows ever. Bulldog kicked me straight in the face while I was in the front row singing along. He bends down to apologize and I tell him... Shut up and fucking play! He was laughing his ass off! Good shit to see them still killing it!

Seems as if Earth Crisis improves with every passing year. They infuse a lot of groove into their riffs. Definitely not a cookie cutter act. Super tight rhythm section, excellent guitar tone and the vocalist is very consistent and powerful. Definitely my speed, no frilly nonsense, ridiculous stage setups nor attire. It's also nice that their ticket prices are very affordable.

As a teen I was brought up on Karl and Earth Crisis even though we don't share the exact same beliefs because Hardcore back in the early 90s was all about brother & sisterhood. No one gave a shit about what you did outside of the Hardcore scene but once the weekend rolled around all that bullshit was left at the door and we had each other's backs! Fuck....if the scene was still like that today and the kids had a place to go that got them off the streets I guarantee the number of school shootings would be cut by more than half if not more! There wasn't any of that bullshit happening when I was in school back then cause we had a place to go...where we were accepted no matter what! We need that back and we need it NOW!
