So to fix a few things said here, the original game was a somewhat crappy scratch game which is what the 2d style section is based off of, the undertale fight styled section is based off the remake of that scratch game. The reason why I think people dislike this is because the walking around section actually seems crappier then the og scratch game and the "joke" lyrics section comes off as odd since in ends in a fanart of papyrus holding sans by strings that looks somewhat solid before going back to crappy again. It could also be because F4ky's animation of the lyric section is actually peak.

To be fair the original scratch game wasn't the best either. I played it there was like nothing to it. The gameplay you showed isn't from the original, it's a different version of it based off the original scratch game called papyrus.exe if i remember correctly. It looks to share elements of the two but i think it takes more from the original. and for the poor quality, scratch games don't really have good quality so when you look at some of the animation it makes sense with it
