whatever to straight edge.. i mean that's a good choice, but everyone's different. I used to break skin heads, cuz we'd get a bit "altered", and hate on the mob of suspendered up, red laced, aint shit bitch haters... way back. If one's heart is in the right place, then just be down for the heart and soul of metal. True metal is all about compassion, unyielding(never give a goddamn inch) acceptance, and overcoming challenges (external and internal) and coming out the otherside wiser, more compassionate, kind, and just an actual nuanced human. You rise when you raise up those around you. Be metal my friends CT and MASS Hardcore raised me... in person, to be an actual person. Metal is the way of self acceptance. Self acceptance is how one can accept others... and the way to a life of actual love and contentment
