Hatfield Warrior Black Trail 97 - Honda Talon, KRX and RZR

We just went to West Virginia riding and had a great time. Here is a clip of the Hatfield and McCoy Warrior Trail 97. Most of the crew tried it out.

We met you and your crew Memorial Day Weekend - while you courteously waited (much appreciated) for all our lovely girlfriends, wives and daughters to use the "facilities" along the the trail. We passed that #97 trail by the water treatment ponds from that active mine while we were down that road visiting some in our groups family graveyards. We considered going up that trail for about 1/2 a second and decided to pass it by. Thanks for sharing and confirming we made a good decision. We had no machines with more than 30" tires! Happy Trails!

No problem buddy! Thanks for watching! We have been up that trail before on Kawasaki Teryx’s with stock tires. However, we did have a white knuckle grip on the steering wheel when we did it… Thanks for the comment. Maybe we will cross paths again one day!

@@BackyardOffroad1 it’s crazy how much different the terrain is in person than in film or picture. I show people at work my videos and pics all the time and they say, “that doesn’t look bad”…I laugh and tell them they would have to be there to understand.

How did the Rzr perform on the 32’s? I can’t decide between the Talon or the Rzr Highlifter. Riding on Drummond Island here in Northern MI, I definitely need the ground clearance for the rock ledges and the mud

It did an amazing job. However, it rides rougher than the talon. He put different tinder springs and I think he still struggling with ride quality. Otherwise, I think he’s been very happy with the RZR.

@@BackyardOffroad1 appreciate the response. I do like the Talon. I just don’t see very many Talons, but I do see a lot of can ams, Rzrs and Yamaha yxz models

Love portal cars! Butt they make them so hard to steer, We have a turbo s and thinking about steering assist. Suggestions would be appreciated..

Yeah, portals make a difference but they do cause steering issues. I found adjusting the caster helped me. I’m not sure how much you know about alignment so I might go into more detail than you need. I just want to make sure it make sense to you. I put 2 -4 degrees positive caster angle (bottom of the portals forward). This helped tremendously. You need adjustable lower A arms to adjust caster angle. Also, adjust the camber where the tires are straight up and down (zero camber). I think Polaris maintains close to a zero camber from the factory. Keep the toe at a negative 1/8” to 0. Last wheel and tire selection; it helps to have a narrow wheel with a 6-1 offset. Also keep your tires narrow if possible and run a tire with a more rounded profile vs a square or flat tread profile. This type tire seem to handle and steer better. I do not have any experience with steering assist, I understand the setup is pricy. I do believe there’s products out there for your UTV. Hope this is helpful. Let me know if you find a good steering solution.
