Now that I've gotten this game, I realize that the balancing is fine. You can choose different traits. Not all of the people who get to that level have the resistance to damage. Some (like me) choose the survival trait which boosts health regen on kills, others choose the blast resistance etc. And, its only resistance to a certain kind of damage. I.E explosions, not to all damage. The only real issue is the spawning in my opinion. I've literally spawned next to darth vader and insta died. I still am in love with this game though.

ACTUALLY the DL-44 is completely balanced because its a very short range weapon and extremely inaccurate at long range, making it a more situational weapon than something like the E-11 or the A280c THANK YOU

To be fair what most new people do is spend 10 pound more and get the deluxe version just to get the ION torpedo and the ION grenade unlocked already plus the very powerful DL-44 instead of waiting till rank 25 to get it legit and fair.
