Wakatsuki was only saying that because he's not a precise, tactical fighter. He vastly over estimated Chiba. Sen only seems to lose out against fighters in a heavier weight bracket.

he knew how to copy them, just not how to use them. if he understood his moves like a true practitioner, he would've known not to use aikido against someone who uses aikido. he sure can make the moves happen, sad to say he doesnt know the consequences of those moves as well as he should.

He is good enough to use them all, but not against someone who masters them. The only real mistake he did was use the style of the one he fights, having clearly failed to recognize that Hatsumi is a prodigy of it. With that said, Aikido is for most part nonsense, but it can be mixed in with others.. like it's wristlocks and throws. Even using the small things can work against a master, but it needs to be a surprise.

He lost the fight due to his Arrogance and understimating his opponent, if he had kept quiet and approched with caution, plan his copy move attacks carefully not to show off too much he would've won the fight.

Copycat can never be better than the original (unless the plot demands it, lol). But if they can get at least 90% of the original AND combine it with 90% of something else, then the copycat might have evolved into All in One and surpass the original in something else.

You know after watching this scene, as much as i love kengan ashura, the one gripe i have is that we dont have a bruce lee type character in the show. I want a fighter who fights using wing chun or something similar to bruce and goes "WOOOO" "HWATAA!!" Everytime he hits someone.

He lost for one very simple reason- he did not at all consider his opponent He repeats that mistake in Omega (spoiler warning obviously)- copies Formless, combining it with style of the strongest fighter of Purgatory, but is caught completely off-guard and beaten with a single strike by a combo he had already seen - Blink + Rakshasa's Palm. Because he didn't think even for a second what his opponent could do, depending on intimidation factor of him using a "strong" style to paralyse his opponent.
