Vocaloid is a music development software, whereas Hatsune Miku is a voice-bank: a series of sound-bites recorded by an actual person. Her name is Fujita Saki. She IS the direct voice of Hatsune Miku. You probably have no knowledge of sound design, nor programming because if you did, you'd know that it's just foolish to quote-on-quote "program a voice". I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying that Vocaloids (Vocaloid-based singers) don't work like that. Famous singers and voice actors lend their voice clips by recording all the possible sounds from a language and then the sound editors and producer does the next step which is to place musical notes, tune the voice and add BGM.

@@pixelcynic I'm just oversimplifying it so that I get the basic point across: it's not a direct recording, as in it's not someone who just sing or speak everything in studio (ie. voice actress with full scripts or lyrics recorded)... because the recording made were only the basic sounds, and then the software arrange the sounds based on user input to create the singing or voicing If I'm writing the actual technical details, it will be too long and people will just not read it at all... especially since this isn't tech centric channel anyway... yes, I'm not a programmer, I just write program as a hobby, mainly in C++, Java, Python, Lua and C# ... you should also know that "program" doesn't always mean computer programming, it can also mean "doing sequence of actions", try to re-read my sentence earlier with the other meaning

But fans seeing a 2D character brought her to life through artwork, fan fiction, comics, murals and other cross media. Then when the holographic technology was at a point where it was thesable. She sang for crowds! When android technology comes to fruition. When real pop stars give these sorts of speeches, sure it can be moving, but there's something special about Miku. She's innocent. She'll never be outed as a sexual offender, spit on a fan, or get arrested. I can trust her to always be there for us, along with all the other Vocaloids. When real pop stars say things like this, It's hard to believe because so often it's just lies. With Miku, despite this all being pre-recorded and animated, it's always genuine. She feels like the representation of our human emotions. Through an entire decade of music and stories, she's been through so much. People project onto her what might be too difficult to say or sing themselves. The song "Odds and Ends" comes to mind. In a way, she gives all of us a voice. She sounds incredible as well, whoever tuned this deserves a hug because I can't hug a hologram sadly. Although fictional, we love you Miku. As well as every other Vocaloid from Big Al to Kaai Yuki.

Sadly I can't he[p you there cuz I've been trying to "spread the word" of Vocaloid for five years and have yet to make a convert amongst my family or co-workers, so if there's some formula for finding musical kindreds irl, I haven't found it yet. All I can suggest is take whatever opportunities which might present themselves to place yourself where there might be people of like mind such as cons or if you're lucky enough to live close enough, a Miku concert. We've been to several so far and found the people there to be great. :)

I finally got to see this concert last week when my copy arrived, and despite having heard a bit about her final speech and knowing it was gonna be pretty emotional, I just kinda lost it when Miku's emotions overpowered her at the end. I *could* say that I was kinda "primed" for a big emotional outburst myself after such a great concert, but as my blubbering just now kinda proves, Miku cries, I cry. I’m so glad to have found Hatsune Miku in 2010. My first song I ever listened to was “Romeo and Cinderella” and I thought it was amazing. As soon as I found out there was a game for the song, I instantly asked my mother if she could buy it for me. She did and it was Project Diva 2nd for PSP. I was instantly hooked, even though I was completely terrible. When I had finished the game, I found out there was another one, Project Diva Extend. Again I asked my mother to get it and she did. Then I found out there was another whole series on the PS-Vita. I begged to get one and I did get one on Christmas Day of 2015. It was like heaven getting Project Diva f and f2nd, they were both the dream games for me. And when Project Diva X came out I got it almost straight away. Miku has made me the person I am today, no doubt about it. Without her I wouldn’t be listening to music and having fun singing along with her. I’m so thankful that she was created along with the other Vocaloids too. Without Miku, without any of them, I just wouldn’t be me. They were the first thing I discovered that I could just roll along and have fun with their music and their games without worrying if people were going to judge me. I’m so grateful to the people that created this amazing idol. I’ll never forget Miku or any of the Vocaloids because they helped me get along in life and to be happy. :’)

That would be cool if she was programmed to be able to read, it should be possible and they should it. AIs can read such as Siri, so that is possible, but they don’t let it happen because I think they’re scared they’re gonna turn on us something. I like AIs, they can’t sin. It's 5 years after 10th anniversary, the 15th anniversary! Also it's almost 5 years since I first discovered Hatsune Miku and other Vocaloids. 4 years ago I was a little cringey i see xD, but my love for Miku is still the same. I don't care if she is not real, she changed my life; when I stress her song revived me up. Everyone has been saying their thanks so I might as well say mine. When I discovered Miku I was in a very broken and unstable state, I listened to her music with time, and after a long while, I became addicted to her music, I would listen to her non-stop, I would listen to her music all the time, then I got into anime a little and I listened to anime music while still listening to Miku, she has been an inspiration to me, a huge influenced and above all, gave me the biggest dream I could ever have and that is to go to Miku Live event. There is a high probability I'll be at Miku Expo Berlin 2020. So whoever goes there I can meet with them. Anyways, thank you Miku for being an inspiration and so much more to me. Thank you.
