This song after looking at it is obviously based on the story of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Dr. Jekyll the good side but having an inner battle with himself as he is a good man with evil fantasies so with that he creates a potion and from there Mr. Hyde is born and he takes the potion every time he wanted to fulfill his fantasy's. In the End, Mr. Hyde almost took complete control of Jekyll's mind and body so when Dr. Jekyll took his chance he committed suicide killing them both. BUT in this video, IA is born not through a potion but simply through Miku's inner bad desires, the other half of Miku, IA kills the man as from what I can tell the man betrayed Miku. IA wanted to make Miku happy because she knew she wasn't happy with this man so killed him and she took control most the time while Miku wanted to take back control not knowing the man is dead. When Miku finds out the man is dead IA tries to convince Miku that what she did what "they" did was right with Miku unsure and disagreeing. IA becomes unhappy and wishes for her own demise trying to convince Miku to end her life, therefore, ending both their lives. In the end, they accept each other telling each other how precious they mean to each other and how they only have each other and accept each other as one personality then both of them being prosecuted for IA's crimes and both remain in jail for murder.

Actually, in the books Jekyll just created a transformation potion that allowed him to go and do everything he desired without having the ability to feel guilty about it. But from what I remember something goes wrong with the potion and he can't control his transformation anymore. He has to choose between being physically either Jekyll or Hyde. Awesome Song. Now Theory Time:Its blatantly obvious that IA and Miku are two different personalities, Miku being sweet innocent and good, IA being the devilish one. Miku was "chained" because her lover betrayed her and she didn't take action and continued to be with him, however her evil side, IA, realized she was not happy and took action and killed him. The two fight for control because Miku had no idea she killed him, or "broke her chains" and IA tries to convince her what she did was right. IA is unhappy and suggests that they kill themselves, because she feels like nothing more than a doll and wants to be in control. in the end the two share control and form the end result, that was thrown in jail for murder.If I missed anything please feel free to add on to it.

For my theory, I do think it comes down to split personalities as many imply but with a little more to it than that. Explanation of the story within my eyes: Miku is in love with someone--now who that may be I have a clue it might be Kaito due to the looks and all shadow wise--but somewhere deep down, she feels betrayal. It could very well be that she was cheated on "The betrayal of the man will not be forgiven" so while she's into the climax of pleasure, the thought or rather hidden personality, IA, showed herself. "Such a good girl who will be reduced to a doll" is a thing of Miku still stays, but now that IA wants control, the 'good girl' can no longer do anything. Thus IA murders her lover. Now afterwards, you see IA saying Miku is still unhappy and Miku counters with a 'What grounds to have that based on?' This is more or less an excuse. IA still wants to take over Miku's body. Through little communication, the two are going around. Miku 'wanders in the darkness' meaning she is clouded and will not remember whereas IA has the satisfaction of staying presently within Miku, who cannot fight her and come out whatsoever. Now it comes to the contract: I suspect IA made a deal. A deal of "If I come out, I won't do anything bad" Which we all know, she broke. This all comes down to Miku--now figuring out things and feeling bad about it, wants to escape. Thus the offer of committing suicide to 'vacate' the other personality. But this also could be for IA as well, wanting Miku out of the way to have complete control on her body despite the illogical break of it. Nevertheless, it's there. Now we go to the part of IA and Miku wanting to kiss and all. hate can turn to love. Right before you see them together IA makes the point of 'kill me", MIKU HAS THE OPTION. She has the option to, well, let the split personality be suppressed and her urges of righteousness of killing the man she was wronged by (Hell hath no fury like a woman being scorned) BUT she instead keeps IA. Thus once hating her existence, wanting her to leave but now keeping her so she wouldn't be alone. To carry on the guilt or whatever she was feeling by herself. Thus loving IA for the fact that she is her damnable salvation. Miku is now seeing that she wants to kill and destroy but cannot face the truth unless IA is there to beckon that, her other half. IA was awoken and in return awoke Miku. They fuse as one person because IA is no longer needed in a sense, no longer needed for Miku to function separately. So IA and Miku are 'together' but not in yuri--unless it's a narssisstic love--sense but more of a 'we are fused as one person and one person only' sense. Both having control altogether and a new personality blooming. IA tainted Miku, serving the purpose to merely being completed. Miku was charged for murder and both suffer going to jail, happy regardless because this is the new Miku. She loves killing within the end of the song. So she got punished. But that's really my opinion of how it goes. It makes sense to me, I hope it clears up for some if they see it somewhat like that too. cx

I personally think that the contract they referred to, was the devil. They sing about God at the same part of the song, and which one he would judge. Suicide, is according to old religious beliefs, something that also sends a person to hell. So I am unsure whether IA is a dark alter ego, or a whipser of darkness that taints Miku into going to hell, with Miku falling in love with her own sins and promising her soul to the devil. My interpretation of the song's story is Miku was in a relationship with a guy, but the guy cheated on her. She loved him so much that she chose to ignore it. While she was doin da bang bang wif her bf, IA came out to speak to her telling her that he can't be forgiven for what he's done and if she stays in this state of euphoria her sanity will colapse. At first Miku is resistant to kill him but IA ends up taking over and kills him for her. Miku wakes up and realizes what shes done. IA then helps her out of her insanity of her murdering and Miku ends up believing/realizing that IA is her one and only love. IA takes this opportunity to take over Miku's body and merge with her. Miku/IA end up going to jail at the end and you can see that they did merge because of the hair color.

It's my first time hearing such emotional vocaloid song! Like they really have feeling in their voice. Idk if its a very high level vocaloid-ing or the voice bank alr that high level. I think that Miku had a split personality that she kept hidden and forgot about but when her boyfriend 'betrayed' her by cheating it broke free and started trying to take over. Miku started fighting with IA on who would control her but slowly fell in love with her other self so Miku became the fool. Whilst IA had control she killed the boyfriend and Miku found out but the two sides only saw each other. Eventually Miku was caught by police and put into prison and went mad and both personalities become one
