The guy in this video is probably a NEET/Hikikomori, suffering from isolation and depression, judging by lyrics. People in these situations are sometimes distrustful of those who try to check in and help them, and the song is a reflection of what the narrator THINKS Miku's character is there for. Some sort of twisted desire to see him suffer more, perhaps. But when he opens up the door, we see a much more 'normal' Miku, who seems honestly surprised he even opened the door at all.

Anyways, like 8 years ago, he publicly apologized without allegations for cheating on his girlfriend with a girl using his fame as musician. Personally, nobody died, but of course that is not ok. I despise cheating people but i still love his music and his guitar skills, i give him a second chance. If you end up disliking him is very understandable, but there's that. I love his music so much. MEIKO was the first Japanese Vocaloid, yet she only got a V1 & V3 and went over 10 years before she got an SP. An SP which many people complain her and Luka both sound like Miku. Meanwhile Miku had an Append, a V4X, an NT, she constantly got updates. Miku gets the collaboration deals, like with Pokémon, so that all the other Vocaloids apparently had to sing with her and couldn't have any songs to just themselves for the deal. Miku has the games and concerts all named after her and focusing predominantly on her. She is used by the most producers, even when her squeaky chipmunk voice would not be the best one for a song because it is out of her genre field or vocal range. She is meant to be a 16 year old girl, yet grown men are weird about her, to the point that one man married her. Wanna buy a figure of Miku? Go for it, you have hundreds to choose from. Wanna buy a figure of KAITO? Too bad, he's only had maybe 3 normal sized figures made of him and they are not currently being sold by anyone official, so either you have to pay ridiculous scalper prices (if you can even find those) or you get nothing. MK 15th Project had to be paid for by the fans just so we could get it for MEIKO & KAITO. The statues of KAITO & MEIKO that are used at concerts and events alongside with the Miku, Rin & Len, and Luka ones were ALSO paid for by the fans, because fans were sick of those 2 not having statues while the other 4 did. So yeah, that's why I hate Miku, her voice is nothing special and yet she gets used the most, even when her voice doesn't fit the song, and she gets all the merch and attention. She is practically forced down our throats just so we can see the others. Concerts are like 2 hours long and where KAITO & MEIKO get one song each (maybe a duet together as well if you're lucky) and Rin can get anywhere from 2 solos and a duet with her brother, the majority of the songs go to Miku. You can spend half an hour with Miku, before you finally get to see Luka sing a solo and then maybe a duet with Miku. But then you're back to Miku. If you play the games, they focus on her and you get small moments with the other Vocaloids. It's just horribly skewed and it's not fair.

@solarbell9990 It's really not. KAITO has far clearer English than Miku does. And MEIKO has far more power to her voice than Miku does. I have seen some people that really know how to use MEIKO, and WOW. They really make her sound like she has emotion in her voice when they want her to. She didn't have access to the growl synthesis of the V4 Engine like the others did, yet you could still get screams from her that sounded like she was tearing up her throat. Then there are Vocaloids like Len who came after Miku and also sound better than her. I really don't know why Crypton thinks Miku is the best when she isn't. To the point they practically neutered Luka and MEIKO for their SPs and made them sound like Miku. It's sad.

My fav vocaloids are GUMI and VFlower but all I could find were 2 GUMI figures and either they were sold out or SUPER expensive!! It sucks. I guess I can't say much though because I do own 6 miku figures and plan to get more.. They're just too pretty to resist!! But I mean, Miku IS the moneymaker (and the most well known). So people are going to focus on her more. For example, if you're a newer vocaloid fan 99% of the time you were introduced to vocaloid by MIku. So what is that person going to look for? Miku! It's not suggested to be happening, it's a cool music video. And I like Deco's music, but his stuff is usually form over substance. And it's meant to be broadly appealing, which it totally is. It's wearing its heart on its sleeve right there in the lyrics, too, so you don't have to do a lot of digging around to figure out what's happening in the meat of the song. It's intentionally unspecified what the person behind the door is doing so that you, the listener, can fill that gap with some bad feeling of your own. The Miku outside could literally be *the* Hatsune Miku, but is probably *a* Miku that Deco connects with in his creative process, which has been a running theme with his products lately. Even when he's in a rut or miserable, Miku can be what he needs and, in this particular incarnation, literally only has eyes (or rather, an eye) for him. Her looking through the peephole suggests that the guy behind the door, probably Deco, can't escape her, and might not even want to, or feel secure enough to. He wants to keep her on the other side of the door, but she convinces him to let her back inside. The "trippy" backgrounds aren't a fever, they're clearly eye floaters, shadows of your own optic nerve, and the kaleidescope effect you get when you press on your eyeballs. Anyway, music can touch you, it can sometimes tell a concrete story, but typically it's autobiographical and abstract. In this case, I'd suggest that this song is a part of Deco maybe struggling with the idea of continuing with vocaloid, now that he's in the big time. Or maybe just examining his feelings about it. He's one of the last major holdouts who's reached popularity with vocaloid and stuck with it still. Other vocaloid big shots, like Kenshi Yonezu (who wrote and produced Kickback) and Ayase (the producer half of Yoasobi), two former vocaloid artists have blasted into the mainstream, in Japan and America, while *still* writing and producing jpop! All they did was drop vocaloid! Maybe Deco wants a piece of that?
