I like to imagine that the Noise really likes Miku's music and she's the only thing that can stop him from being a terrible little hellion. Sometimes when he's about to wreck Peppino's shop, he just looks at Noise and asks "would-a Miku be happy about this?", and Noise just stops, and looks at him, and then he puts down his stupid pogo-stomper and walks away.

I've been a huge fan of Vocaloid since 4th grade. This video was very terrifying to get in my notifications. You got a lot more right than most people explaining VOCALOID who haven't been listening to songs using them as their only source of music outside of video game music. Couple of things though: VOCALOID is one of many vocal synthesizer brands. They're the biggest and most known one but as of recently, more brands have started to gain a bit more popularity as well (off the top of my head, SynthV and CEVIO come to mind, but there's way more.) I know people still call the general vocal synth fandom "the VOCALOID fandom" (as do I) but there has been a shift in the actual fandom itself in calling it just "Vocal Synths" as opposed to just using Vocaloid (at least from what I've seen...) Yamaha isn't really the creator of Hatsune Miku more than they are a distributor. From what I remember they own the VOCALOID brand and the editor but Miku was created by Crypton Future Media. As of 2019 I believe Crypton no longer works with YAMAHA, which is why you'll see recent official media refer to Crypton's characters (Miku + 5 others) as virtual singers. Side note: Seeing 1:04 weirdly surprised me. It's enough for people to play a Project DIVA game but to also see footage from one of the live streams for the gacha rhythm game (Bear with me here) Project Sekai: Colorful Stage is enough to make me jolt a little, especially given it's not very well known compared to Project DIVA. (As in it took a year or so for us to get an English version.) Sorry for dropping a huge essay in your comments, Mr. Mcfumbles. I'm very passionate about this damn vocal instrument. I likely got a couple of things wrong since I haven't engaged with pure Vocaloid content since 2021 so if any other Vocaloid/vocal synth megafans see this comment, please do not jump me. I have a funny wizard hat.

My partner introduced me to this game, and Miku in general. I started to listen to a few of her songs in my own time and eventually they brought up a concert happening a state away, we bought tickets. A bit later we got an email saying the tickets we bought couldn't see the display platform, and they would have to move us. Like 3 months later, a week before the concert we finally decided to see where we would be sitting. Orchestra seating, in the middle of the pit three rows behind the stage. That we got for a combined total of $85. April 6th can't come fast enough

I’ve been subbed to you for awhile. I’ve also been a Vocaloid fan since 2011 and dove deep into it starting with Diva games in 2018. Gotta say, for someone that’s not in fandom you got significantly more right than you got wrong- most of which I’ve already seen corrected in other comments so I won’t bother repeating it. The fact that this was still enjoyable for me as a super fan coming from you as someone that isn’t feels like an impressive feat ngl. Like I actually went “WHOA BIG AL REFERENCE!” because it’s always fun to see him. It’s great that you were able to go into Diva and enjoy the songs in it! It doesn’t have too much made past 2016, but it’s a great collection of the classics. If you have a Round 1 arcade in your area they might have an arcade cabinet of an older version of this game. I’ve heard some have been getting rid of them while others still have them. I’ve been able to play it once and was totally thrown off by the different button layout lol I also think you’d find it interesting to know that the PSP (Vita) games had a mode that let you make music videos with the 3D models and stages along with custom beatmaps. Some of the music videos in Mega Mix+’s DLC were from a contest of fanmade videos using this mode (Betty The Liar, How'd It Get To Be Like This?). Vocaloid culture really is all about the community imo As much as I personally enjoy the newer mobile venture they have, Project Sekai, this video is a great reminder of why we need a new Project *Diva* game. It can still appeal to new players that might not have considered picking up Sekai and I think both bases should be catered to. The fact that it seems to be just one or the other right now is really disappointing. Thanks for the fun video! If you’re reading this, I hope you have a good one!

Don't ask me where I heard this, because I cannot recall to save a life. But if I remember correctly, the blond boy and girl, Rin and Len Kagamine, are "twins". I'm using "twins" in big air quotes since it's more like they're actually the same consciousness inhabiting two bodies. It's voice synthesizer lore, so I advise taking it with a grain of salt.

I was introduced to this game when I found a cabinet for the arcade version at my local Round 1 and was hooked ever since. I'm one of the sickos who always plays rhythm games at the hardest difficulty though so my experience was way different. I know you vaguely alluded to doing so, but I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend listening and/or playing the other songs by wowaka, the guy who made Two-Sided Lovers. He passed away a few years ago and he's a genuine legend in the Vocaloid community. He's arguably the reason the game puts so much emphasis on crediting the producers of the song--Unhappy Refrain (which is in this game, can't remember if it's in base game or DLC) is often interpreted as wowaka lashing out at the Vocaloid community for posting videos without crediting the actual artists, and it's a banger on top of being an important calling out.

As the video went on it became very clear that you weren't really that familiar with Vocaloid before the making of this video... *HOWEVER* up until the 2/4th of the video I actually thought you were already a Vocaloid fan! In comparison to lots of 'newcomers' you did quite a lot of good research! You understood quite well who (or what) Miku is, how she 'works' outside of being just a product and you abstained from voicing a lot of assumptions that are very common with people not familiar with Vocaloid! And the fact that you took the time to explain it instead of just jumping into the game assuming it's just "an anime rhythm game" is also greatly appreciated! For any Vocaloid fan it's not really hard to believe when people like the music upon hearing it (I mean, there's a reason why we are fans to begin with), but it's always nice to hear when people *say* that they like it. And not only that, but naming the actual songs that particularly stood up for you also shows that it really is something you cared about! Also, seeing your improvement if the form of the gameplay you included, plus the fact that you are the person that has showed the *most* content that this game has to offer outside of the main rhythm game BY FAR, really shows to me that you enjoyed the game! And for that I'm glad. Thanks for making this video ^-^

LMFAO. The blatant "skill issue" in not only the gameplay but also the knowledge of the characters themselves is SO freaking funny to me. XD Teto being "evil Miku" is actually not TOO far off though since she is technically a chimera creature who just wants to BE as popular as Miku. Meiko (Brown Miku) was the first Japanese Vocaloid, followed by Kaito, then Miku. I LOVE these games, so much. Got into 'em years ago and used to play them all day long working on Perfecting every song on every mode. So thank you for making a video about one of them.

For anyone just getting into Project DIVA, do know that MegaMix in it's current state is *serviceable* without mods - just think about that for a second. 250 songs is nothing when the quality actually put into them compared to past entries is diminishing. You've no clue just how refined the MVs and extra content can be just by judging this game alone - If you wanted a glimpse into Project DIVA's potential, I'd suggest either modding the game / getting F2nd for the PS Vita, or Future Tone for the PS4. Other miscellaneous things to note: - If the song ain't 3D in some fashion, they didn't bring in guest artists for the songs, that's just the original art used alongside the debut of those songs - SEGA just decided not to put the effort into doing anything new. - Don't be afraid to expand your reach! Limiting yourself to songs done with the title Vocaloid really restricts your ability to listen to some solid bangers. - There could've been even more community work if MegaMix took the approach of older titles and included hundreds of wallpapers done by fanartists during loading screens. - Miku did in fact disappear once, shit is **fascinating**.

Bumbles. Listen. I've been a fan a long time, but I won't stand for bacon dog slander. You've clearly never eaten a Victory Dog, aka the best hot dog on the planet, made by a guy who will, at length, tell you about the life-sized Stargate he's building in the woods. They'll knock your socks off.

Miku and Vocaloids overall have a massive presence in the I Wanna Be The Guy fangame community. Yeah, remember that one absurdly difficult freeware game from 2008? Well there's thousands of fangames based on it, a good chunk of them being avoidance fights set to Vocaloid tracks. That's what got me into Miku, and why I visualize their songs a certain way in my head.

17:57 Oh buddy I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The artist for Two Faced Lovers passed away back in 2019. Sad to say hes not the only artist that was lost. But it is a reminder why I love these artist so much, they're people like us, faceless for the most part. They're not in it for the money or fame, most of them create songs because they want to. Been listening since 2012, embarrassed to say I didn't come to this conclusion till 2015. It makes the songs feel more genuine.

If you haven’t already, watch a video or two if someone getting perfect on an extra extreme. I swear I have no clue how some of these people hit buttons so fast so accurately. But I’m a HUGE fan of the game and definitely put WAY too much time into it. I was a music major in college whose favorite music was all done by vocaloid producers. Needless to say, I never got to interact with my favorite music in class. And with countless other pieces of repertoire to learn inside and out, learning and memorizing these in Japanese was a bit too much. Especially Without access to the sheet music I was so used to reading. So this game gave me a fun different way to interact with my favorite music in a learning, slightly intellectual manner. At least, more than I had previously. And I wasn’t half bad either! I managed to score 92% and up on every single hard, with all but 10 having scores of “perfect.” I know nobody cares about my nostalgia trip but thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite college games. It gave me a smile I needed today.
